free dining seems like it makes a vaction perfect!!

Wouldn't you make ADRs anyway even if you weren't on the dining plan? I see this written a lot and I can't make any sense of it, I would think that you'd need ADRs whether you are on the plan or not...

I guess I didnt word that properly. Yes, you really do need to make them any time you go, but you have to be EARLY when using free dining. If you are going in a non peak, non free dining time you do still need to make them, but usually not right at the 180 day time. For example, I'm going 12/8-12/15. I called and added Le Cellier just at the beginning of August (my 180 day was like june something) and I got a time for when I wanted. If it would've been free dining, or peak time, I have a feeling I wouldnt have gotten it, ESPECIALLY with free dining since LC will give you 'the most bang for the buck' on the DDP so people will gobble that up fast.

that discount seems to be a great savings and a ton of fun!!!! i hope some day i could land that deal!

I hear Free Dining is like going on a cruise. You'll need two sets of clothes. One set for enjoy vacation, and the Mu-Mu for the trip back...;)

My bro just did the normal dining plan while we all met up there just recently. He said it was way more food than they could eat, but they did anyways!

We leave on Aug. 28th to experience Free Dining for the first time and I'm really looking forward to it. We are taking my DS's girlfriend with us and Free Dining is helping to make this trip possible. It's not cheap to have two rooms (even at Pop Century) and we are paying for everything. The fact that we will spend very little money on food, REALLY helps. :thumbsup2

That is the exact reason that it IS offered during that time. There would be no reason for Disney to make such an offer during a more desired time period. I could not talk DH into taking that offer this year (we spent a TON on travel during 2006) so I am really counting on it being offered next year (the last week of August is an ideal time for us to go).

I know - the hot humid weather is why Disney offers free dining. That's why free dining doesn't make a perfect vacation for me. I'd rather pay for my food and be able to breath (I can't breath in the hot humid whether).

We stayed at CSR in March/April & paid for the dining plan & I thought it was really worth the price. We are going on 9/12 & staying at AKL with free dining! We weren't planning on going in Sept but the free dining came out & I couldn't resist. We are staying at AKL b/c I felt that since we would be saving so much on food that I could splurge on our hotel. Keep in mind that we weren't going until I heard about free dining- in actuality the free dining is costing me a bundle since we weren't planning on going back until next year.

:thumbsup2 We weren't going to go this year either, but when free dining came out we couldn't help ourselves. We always stay value, so that makes it that much cheaper!
