Free dining rumor - will there be a room only discount?

Just curious - IF free dining is released May 1/May 7, will a room only discount be announced on the same day? I have heard that with free dining, if you check in on the last day of the promotion, you get it for the whole trip. Is the same true for the room only discount if one is offered?

No, room only discounts are based day by day. You could have some days discounted but not others.

Room only offers with Memory Maker or ticket upgrades do apply as long as you check in within the room only promotion.

I a hoping or a RO discount!! Our dates are set, with the kids being on fall break, we have to go the week of Columbus Day, so we know we are out for FD. Come on RO discount!!!

I wouldn't oppose a RO discount. We're already booked at CR in the Garden Wing with the MM package, but a RO discount might bring the tower rooms down to a more doable price range! Thought I was the only one who didn't care about free dining- the DDP just doesn't suit our eating style.

With room only all your days have to be included. Free dining is just the check in date

No that's not right anymore. Your days that are included in RO must start in that promo and you will get it for the nights included and the nights that you go outside of the RO offer dates you pay rack rate.

Ex dates are Oct 1-10 you check in on Oct 7-15, you get RO rates for 7-10, for 11-15 you pay rack rate.

Does any one have the discount code for room only? For some reason I am not finding it. Just called WDW and was told discount starts May 7th - but i think that is the release date for the general public..

You don't need the discount code, you just need to call. I've never had a code and was always able to get the discount when it was either released to Disney Visa card holders or general public. Just call them.
