Free dining/resort question

I need to add one day to my free dining ressies. I have been calling daily for the one day. each time the person checks with guest services and tells me no availability left for my extra date.
Today I get a magical person who (checks with guest services) and then tells me no availability and that even if someone cancels it would go into reg reservations and I wouldn't get the extra day. She said she tells me this because she can see I have called twice and she didn't want me to waste my time calling each day(I have probably called around 10 times now 1 a day)

is she right?
Anyone else had luck lately adding a day on their free dining ressies

I need the extra day as I already biught my airtickets and it was cheaper to buy a day earlier. I will change my dvc ressies if this woman is telling me the truth and the other folks are wrong.

Since the time frame you could book free dining is over (I believe it ended June 24), then I would guess the CM's you have been talking to are correct.

You can no longer book the free dining program since it's past June 24, and I'm sure that would go for adding extra days as well.

It just seems odd I was able to add days on this same trip..started out as a 3 day trip then i added 3 more days on the end and now want to add one day on the start. I made those adds after the ending of free dining offer, but it was not too long after..maybe 2 weeks or so later

This happened to me last year and I had to book 1 day at the beginning of my stay as a room only so, technically, I had 2 reservations. It was explained to me that they couldn't add a day on but had to cancel the original ressie and rebook the new one with the extra day and because the free dining reservation period was over it wouldn't show in the computer as being available. I suppose it never hurts to keep trying because different people do tend to give different answers.

Are you extending your trip by one day? Or are you going a day earlier and leaving a day earlier?

Maybe you could just stay somewhere else -- even offsite -- for that first night. Or if that fouls up your DME, you could maybe stay one night elsewhere onsite.

Take care before changing your existing ressie. Sounds like you may not be able to re-book it with the free dining.
