I havent been to disney in a few years now and am planning to go Dec 12-20th, and am feeling very out of the loop I was wondering how free dining works now, im not sure if i will be staying at POP or POR, does it make a difference which type of dining is included? I'm sure this has been answered a million times, just not sure how to find it. Any help or tips would be very much appreicated!! TIA!!!
The last times free dining was offered you only got the quick service plan while staying at a value. For regular dining you had to stay at a mod or deluxe. I would not count on free dining though. There was no free dining offered for January like in the past instead they did the play, stay, dine deal. Basically you got a discount on the dining plan but it wasn't free. I think Disney is moving away from free dining.
I agree with wdwmom3 is that you can't depend on a promotion. While the PSD is still a good deal if you want the dining it's not as good as free dining.
As stated you got QSDP for Value, DP for Mod / Deluxe. Now if you stayed in a value you could upgrade your free QSDP to the regular dining plan and pay the difference is what we did 2 years ago.
OP (danny25) has a pretty good track record on calling these promos. He was almost dead on the money for the current spring promotion almost three weeks before it was released.
We are still keeping fingers crossed for free dining for this Sept...However, we do have a resort discount, so if free dining doesn't come out, we have something..I was told that typically free dining has been offered for this time of year for quite a few years now, hope it doesn't stop now!!
