Hey everyone,
I was just wondering...so I want to take a Disney vacation in Aug 2012 and was hoping to get free dining. So I wanted to know if I book my package now and then they add free dining dates later, can I change my reservation to get dining for free? Or should I wait until Disney comes out with the official list for next year? (when do you think the Aug dates will be announced?)
thanks! :goodvibes

MOST of the time you can change your package to add free dining later if the resort you are staying at has rooms available for free dining. Port Orleans, particularly POFQ and POP tend to sell out of FD rooms first and may not be available to switch.

If you already have a package booked, free dining can just be added to your current reservation IF there is availability under free dining for your resort/room type. However, you may have to be flexible with your resort (and sometimes dates) to get free dining as not all resorts/room types are available under all promos.

In Canada, we were offered Free Dining for August/Sept 2012 starting on August 19th ... I had noticed that "value season 2" started on August 19th for deluxe resorts so I took my chance and booked from that date. Sure enough, free dining was released and I was able to apply it to my existing reservation. My point is: Disney is offering it free elsewhere starting August 19th - so keep that date in mind as a starting point when booking August. I'm sure these dates will be released to the general public as well.
