Free Dining Question

We originally booked All Star Music with the free dining plan from 8-24 to 8-31. We decided to add an extra night on 8-32 because the air fare was a great price. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and had an extension on the dining plan. Please let me know because I need to call back to add the Magical Express flight details. Maybe another cast member cold help me out. TIa,

We added two extra nights on our last trip during the free dining. Just call and modify your reservation. They should give you the free dining for every night that you stay. Have your new flight numbers available and they will be able to make arrangements for the Magical Express.

Thanks so much why didn't the original cast member offer me the dining for the extra day then? I will probably try to call now or in the morning. I really appreciate the advice.

The extension of the free dining is automatic. I added 2 days cause the plane tickets were too cheap to pass up

You might have some difficulty adding on 8/32. You might want to try adding on 9/1 instead.

I actually added on a day before the free dining begins so it is 8-23. In reality the dining does not start yet. I was wondering if they still extend it. Since my original post was not clear maybe someone can clarify for me. TIA

I believe you have not changed your reservation with Disney, right?

You may need to do a room only reservation for the 23rd and you will not have access to the dining plan or park tickets for that day. You can get all of those things early the next day when you check in for your FD stay. You may have to change rooms, but you won't know that until you check in on the 23rd.

You may have to treat them separately because the FD promo doesn't start until the 24th, Disney won't start it a day early for you.

We also booked our FD stay at Music(8/28-9/1). I just saw a weekly activity sheet for the resort; there could be a lot going on. So if you simply just chill out at Music that first day you and your little ones will have pool side games, bingo and a pool side flick to enjoy.

From all that I've read on this board, free dining starts 8/24 and disney won't offer it before that. You'll have to book a room only reservation for 8/23 but you won't get free dining, like the pp stated above. Do you have an AP? If you don't you'll probably have to wait til you check in again in 8/24 to get your park tickets with your package.

Correct, you cannot add free dining onto a package before the travel dates allowed. (Nor any package. The arrival of travel dates are firm.)
And correct, the park tickets attached to the package start when guests check in with the package. Not when the guests checks in prior to the package arrival date.

We arrive on Sept. 18th and depart on the 24th and still get it for the entire week even though it is over on the 20th. I'm not sure about checking in BEFORE it starts. Wouldn't hurt to try.

You wont get FD because FD doesnt start until the 24th.. but I am checking in 9/20 and checking out 9/30 so I get it the whole time because we check in before its over.. but the same doesnt apply for checking in early

From what I've read (we're planning our 1st trip to WDW this Aug), all DDP credits and put onto your KTTW when you check in. So even though, you are checking in on the last day of the promo, you'll get it for your entire stay. Same applies when checking in before the promo. Since free dining hasn't started yet on the 23rd, you won't get any credits and would have to check out and back in on the 24th to get free dining.
