Can you do 1 adult and 1 child in the room for free dining? Or is it based on 2 adults and 2 kids in room? What is usually the minimum # of nights you have to book?

Last years free dining details included this info:
This offer requires a 3 night minimum stay max 14 nights. Offer available most nights 8/26/07 9/22/07.
The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Jr & Child rates apply only when adult occupies the room.
Also I did find this on an old archived post about a single parent and free dining, but I don't know if it even pertains any more :
A single parent with a small child under the age of 10 would essentially pay the adult rate for the child, minus the difference in the ticket price (around $50 less)
Three years ago I did the Free Dining just myself and my daughter.
Disney charges for the room for 1 -4 people same price and we each got a one day pass and used the money toward a/p's.
