Free dining question for suites

Hello fellow dissers,

I am new to the FD craze. For the last few years we have rented DVC points and have not had to worry about room discounts or FD. So, I've had a reprieve from the crazieness . This year we are treating our children and grandchildren so we are now looking at two rooms. OR, we could do The Art of Animation Resort Suites. My question is, IF FD is offered ( we are looking at going in September) during our timeframe do they offer it on the suites as well?

Thanks for any information you can offer. We are debating on renting points and doing two studios at either OKW or AKV or seeing if FD qualifies at the suites. Thats even if we get FD pins or its offered as a general offer to the public.

we did a free dining promotion using a club level room, so i would think suites would be included too. the percent off room rates promotions do not.

it really worked out well for us. continental breakfast before rope drop, snacks when we come back from the parks for a swim, then appetizers and a drink before we head back to the parks for the evening. i think we at least broke even- two tween boys can dispose of some snacks.

FD is usually available for any/all room types. Room discounts often exclude suites... so you should be ok when/if FD finally arrives!

The All-Star Movie Family suites have been included in the FD promos over the last couple of years - in fact, they are the only suites that are ever included in any past FD promos. But, the first year they were open, they were not included in the FD promo. So, the big question is not really if Family Suites will be included, it if they will offer any discounts at AOA at all. With it being a new resort and people being excited to stay there, they may not offer any kind of discount there at all for a year or so - like they did when the All-Star Family Suites first opened.

The best option, if you are wanting free dining and to save the most money, is to get two connecting rooms at one of the other value resorts.

The Art of Animation suites were included in the 2011 bounceback. They are considered value resorts so they got free QSDP like all other values.

As to whether they'll be included in next free dining offer, only time will tell. It basically comes down to whether or not the beancounters believe they can book enough of the suites without such an offer. The whole point of these offers is to get people to book. If between the novelty of the resort, previously booked bouncebacks and previously booked other offers there is sufficient bookings to make those beancounters happy then it won't be offered at this resort. If I had to guess I'd say it will be included but only time will tell for sure.

I know email pin codes are not the same as general public discounts, but I read on this board that a lot of people who got the email pin codes for free dining last week could not use their pin code discount at the new AOA resort. Hope that's not a sign of things to come! We would really like to stay at AOA at the end of the year and would like to get a free dining discount.

I doubt you will see a free dining discount on a brand new resort, especially one that caters to families of up to 6.

I think they won't need to offer discounts on a new resort, such as AoA.
