Where is the poll?

E.T.A Ahh there it is! The time seems to be off on the posts on this board so I thought alot of time had passed since the original post.

I have made no less than 6 calls to reservations over the last few days with all this code nonsense going on. Each and every one has told me to hold my horses because Free Dining is coming.

I think they wait to see how resorts are being booked.
Im waiting and hoping..free is for me!:woohoo:

Count me in!! I would be suprised if they didn't offer it again this year. They have already offered it to our UK friends and people who could book during the bounce back program. We can't wait!

I was told when we booked the trip a few weeks ago that it would be offered again- but I much rather have the 40% off since we are staying deluxe.... but at this point I will take what I can get!! :goodvibes

I was one of the ones who was able to book free dining (via the bounce back program) when I was there in Dec. The CM I spoke with at PORS seemed very knowledgeable. He said that WDW was 'severely limiting' the number of free dining pkgs available for 2007 due to a combination of both visitors and restaraunts complaining about free dining over the last two years, plus travel is picking back up. I had already booked my pkg, so he didn't need to use it as a sales tactic. He also said that WDW was really suprised at the number of people who showed up for the bouce back program as they had purposely not advertised it very much. I asked him again right before I left and he again said that the only way to get free dining for 2007 was going to be through the UK program or the Bounce Back program. However, he did say WDW would be offering another deal that visitors would like in place of it (40% off deal maybe?--I don't know):confused3 .

After I got home I got a postcard asking me to do a survey and it had a pin# so I could log into the survey site. The survey started off asking about my resort, but then started asking me alot questions about booking the bounce back program, how I liked it, how knowledgable the CM was, etc.

I was told by the first CM when I Booked the first time, that there was a good chance free dining was goingf to happen. But that reservation canceled so when I rebooked I got the 40 percent off my room with a code by my name. So if free dining comes out it would be a better deal then what good deal i have now.

I hope very very much that their is free dinning this year as that is the only way my family and I would be able to take a trip to disney world this year. Since we have 5 people, and need to buy 2 value rooms. We have gone the last two years because of the free dining and would love to go again this year. Hope they have free dining and it comes out soon so that we can book our airfare while it is still somewhat cheap.

It's a sales tactic. It is. I promise you. He was making you feel good about your purchase. It's part of the pitch they learn.

Free Dining will be offered. A little pixie told me!!:wizard:

I hope your little pixie is true because if it is it would be great, it will be even better if they raise the limit from 10nights to 14nights That would be great! FREE Dining Here i come!!!!!:dance3: :goodvibes :lmao: :rotfl: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :wizard:  :woohoo: :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm still loving your attitude and now I also love your Pixie :wizard: . I was so afraid all these codes would take the place of "free dining" but after seeing your post this afternoon I am once again flying sky high with my cup half full!!! Thanks so much for your positive attitude!!! :thumbsup2

We're booked at a value w/ 40% disc. If "free" dining is offered I have to give up my 40% disc and rebook as a pkg where the room is rack rate w/ the dining plan. This means the "free" costs me $341....but boy, our family can sure eat more than $341 worth of food over 8 days.

So...I'm happy to have my 40%....and if something better comes along, you know we'll be trying to rebook. Let the games begin! At least we're heading to Disney!!!!

What I can't remember, is w/ the dining plan, I believe you had to order at least 1 day park pass (per person in the room) to get the plan. We like to order through a ticket broker w/ 10day non-exp for the best prices. Then we use 1/2 the days on 2 trips. So I guess I need to figure in adding an expensive 1 day ticket to my equation too.

Don't get me wrong, we loved free dining last year...but it was a lot of food, and we often left things behind..not to mention 4 CS we had left over at the end that we gave away to a nice family arriving that night.

Things to ponder......

We're also booked at a value and I will gladly give up the 40% off my wonderful AAA agent got us yesterday to save $935 on the dining plan. We're going during value season so the 40% off is only saving us $150 but I figured I'd better grab the 40% is case the "free dining" isn't offered.

Just a total guess - the fact that they are offering 40% off during that time tells me they will not offer free dining. I think it caused too much overcrowding at the restaurants last year.

DebbieB I have to agree with you.

Christmas before last they offered something like this. There was a room pin code (which in my opinion wasn't worth much...mabey $15/nite less on values) but then it allowed you to add the ticket/dining option on. Though it never broke down what you were paying for each part of the package, once I subtracted the cost of dining and the tickets, the room worked out to about $46/nite.

I think the terminology "free dining" has caused quite a frenzie. If Disney can offer something similiar (meaning the bottom line comes CLOSE to what you would have paid...though slightly in their favor), then it makes good business sense to do so. Plus, many people will book a discounted room and never opt for the dining package, keeping the dining crowds down.

Of course, I'm making an assumption here. Does this new "pin code" allow you to book the discount in conjunction with a package so that you can PAY for the dining?

I know alot of people don't have the pin connected with their name. This is just Disney's style: offer new deals to specific groups and then after a short period, make it a public discount. Hopefully this will be the case b/c I "might" convince DH of another trip... ;)

My only gripe is that I wish disney would come up with a discount system and stick with it. I hate sitting on the edge of my seat wondering if something is going to come along for the dates I've chosen. Not all of us can be flexible at the last minute...and besides.......I'M A PLANNER!
