DH has sprung a " maybe " for October on me so we are lookin to the Free dining.

Ive never done DIY before ( I did post about a million threads last year but bottled it and went package !! ) so I would love some help.

OKW looks good and a no brainer at the price.

Do we book thru Disney.uk ?

And ANY help re flights would be amazing...I think Im doing it wrong !!

DOH.:headache:

If you are talking about the offer for 47% off OKW or SSR and free dining, then you will need to book through disneyworld.co.uk

In order to qualify for free dining, you need to purchase a package which includes tickets (5 day premium as a minimum).

As far as flights go, it really depends where you want to fly from/to and whether you want a flydrive or separate flights and car hire.

Try www.virginatlantic.com or www.ba.com for flights to Orlando International

Wayne will probably have some suggestions on finding cheaper flights but I never seem to have the time to spend shopping around and we like to fly direct too.

Definitely do DIY and take advantage of that awesome deal. I only did a package once, but wound up changing it to fly drive, as it was cheaper and the flights were awful on a package flight - think it was Thomson or Thomas Cook.

Book through Disney Direct and keep looking out for cheap flights. I've often found scheduled flights come cheaper about three months ahead but last time I booked for October, we got good deals booking late January/early Feb.

Keep checking different sites, like Expedia, Orbitz and Virgin. Also, if you can be flexible, check different days - Wednesdays or Thursdays are often cheaper.

As others have said, not having a direct flight to Orlando is no biggy either. We like doing that because you don't need to go through customs again at Orlando, so once you're there, you can grab your baggage and go.

Thanks for the replies.

As I would imagine we are going to have to travel away from Scotland I would prefer to go direct.

£ 1,460.00 for 2 adults 1 child from Manchester with Virgin.

Or £ 1,338.00 from Gatwick...this is an option because we have family near by.

Sound good !! :confused3

DIY definitely worth doing. We have also booked OKW for our trip in August, and you do get the DDP with Table Service meal with this (saving another £5 pppn over upgrading from the Quick Service plan!!).

To give an idea of potential savings of going DIY, for our trip in August, VH prices for 16 nights were coming in at £3,500 just for flights and off-site hotel (no additional car insurance, no tickets etc).

Our anticipated cost will be around £4,300 including 12 nights at OKW with free DDP, 4 nights at RPR (saving on buying Xpress Passes), Universal/Disney/Seaworld Tickets, fully insured car through Hertz, Insurance - oh, and flights as well (although we are flying LHR to Miami rather than MAN - MCO but there was a £900 saving to be had!!).

Also, if booking via Disney UK, sign up at Quidco and get 4.5% cashback. Unfortunately I forgot to do this, otherwise we would have had an additional £90 in our pocket!!
