Free Dining plan in March 2015

We are planning our trip for March 15, 2015 and really want to take advantage of the free dining plan. Does anyone know the best way I should begin this or how to make sure I get it? We've never done it before and our friends say they get free dining all the time. Thanks!

Your friends must travel at times when *free* dining is offered. It isn't available all of the time and isn't likely to be offered during peak times like Spring Break. However, IF it ends up being offered during your visit, the best way to ensure that you get it would be to book your trip with a TA that specializes in Disney and who will search for additional discounts for you after you have booked with them. That takes the burden off of you.

You should also be flexible with your dates and the resort you want to stay at. It can help with getting discounts.

It is typically offered initially for the month of Sept. (sometimes starts very tail end of Aug.), and then frequently extended through the rest of the fall, with the holidays considered "black out" dates. That said, it is a "draw" for slower times of the year, and is not offered during peak attendance (read: spring breaks).

Also do the calculations and make sure that the free dining is usually the best bargain.

If I not mistaken in order to qualify for free dining you have to pay rack rates. If you are staying at a deluxe that could be costly.
