My mom got the free dining offer by mail today- but it was addressed to us (my DH in particular). We have 5 rooms booked at WL (with Dreams) with the dining plan. There are 14 of us- we have a grand gathering number assigned to us- will the pin code apply to all 5 rooms? if so- that is awesome- we are there 10 nights, 14 people, at $30 a day for dining or so, that would be like $4200 savings in total. The trip is all being paid on one disney visa (parents kindly treating us all!!). so does it apply to all of us?

also- our trip is 12/10-12/20- i think the promotion ends 12/17, but since we are arriving before then, does it apply for our whole trip?

What is odd is that it is addressed to DH. i don't think i have used his name anywhere other than in our dreams ressie and maybe i listed him online somewhere? I just recently ordered the custom maps for us on the disney site too.....maybe that triggered it. who knows. in all my years, this is the first code we have gotten!

You can apply the free dining pin to a MAX of 3 rooms. As was suggested to me - apply the PIN to the rooms with the most adults.

Yes, as long as you check in before the offer expires, it is supposed to extend for the balance of your stay.

HTH!

Thanks- our dreams agent just checked and was able to apply the pin code to 3 of our 5 rooms at WL for 10 nights. Our nights are 12/10-12/20, and we get the free dining the entire time, since we are there before the 12/17 cutoff deadline.

it saved us over $3,000!!!!!!! free dining for 7 adults and 3 kids. not too shabby!

I am so excited. It's funny- this trip is a 'splurge' trip that my parents are treating us too as they recently came into an inheritance. They have never stayed deluxe and we are usually more budget conscious, but we are going all out this trip. So this savings was definitely a surprise and will allow us to spend it on something else fun- maybe WISHES dessert party and more souveneirs! ;) so excited- we've never gotten a pin code before in our 20 years of vacationing with disney.

Well, I tried this and was told it the free dining pin could only apply to one room. Some friends of ours invited us to go with them to WDW. They received the free dining pin. They were going to book both rooms on their Disney VISA and we would pay them. Our travel agent said it was only good for one room, and supposedly even called Disney to confirm. There would only be six of us, so we did not qualify for a grand gathering.

This is wrong! They need to call their TA, and have her add a room to their ressie with your name! I have a client with her & her parents rooms booked on the same pin. The code is in her name.

Who tried to apply the PIN code to the two rooms - you via your travel agent, or the actual person to whom the PIN code was issued? According to the CM's at the CRO - they can only apply the code to a max of three rooms for the person to whom the pin was addressed (in our case, the code came to my hubby's name, so he had to do all the room bookings and needs to be there at check in). TA's are supposed to be able to apply the code, but per the Disney CM's we spoke with, you are much better off booking multiple rooms directly with Disney for the 40% or FD codes if you're getting the run around with agents.

Note - I am not trying to bash TA's whatsoever - just relaying our convo's over the last week.

My friend who received the pin emailed the TA, asking if she could add a second room under her name with the pin, and was no she couldn't. I have no doubt it is the travel agent. We have used her before and received incorrect information. The TA claims she called Disney and confirmed one room per pin. I suspect she didn't ask the question correctly, perhaps asking if she could put the second room in my name. We are booking through AAA for the few extra perks you get from them, but I am starting to think the hassle isn't worth those extras.

Ugh, it sounds like the TA doesn't have a clue. I'm sorry she is screwing this up for you!

The only thing that might be happening is if the PIN your friend is using has already expired, but if she just got it (and it's for dates later this year) then it shouldn't have expired yet.

I wish I could help you guys. I want you to be able to go just as bad as you want to go! LOL

Good News! I talked with my AAA TA today, and explained that I was seeing reports here that you are allowed three rooms per PIN. She agreed to call her contacts at Disney again, and they told her we could book. So we are now booked for CS 11/20 to 11/26 with free dining!

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Woohoo :cheer2:
I think it's a case of lighting a fire under the TA - and it looks like it worked. Hope you have a wonderful trip and enjoy all the free food :woohoo:

Great! :cheer2: I knew she was crazy & putting you off before. See, she got her sale just by doing a little leg work, AND you are getting to go!
