I am sure this is asked somewhere. . . but the search feature isn't working for me right now.

I was wondering, if you're a passholder and want to book the free dining package what are the requirements?
If I am understanding this correctly. . .
All I would need to do is book my 7 day trip as a package with a one day base ticket for everyone in my party (3) and still get the free dining for the 7 days?
Or would I need to buy a 7 day park ticket for everyone? (not worth it)
Or would I need to only buy one base ticket (instead of 3) and everyone would still get the free dining?

Thanks for any help!!!!

I have got a annual pass, actually thought I had lost it last year. So I have a one day basic ticket and the free dining plan.

Everyone in your party must purchase a one day base ticket as the minimum requirement. You also must pay rack rate for your room meaning no ap discount and everyone in your party must purchase the same type of ticket... for example one person can not buy a hopper and one person a base ticket. The number of days has to be the same etc.

I am an ap holder and I took advantage of this last year and saved over $800.00 on food. I would not have saved that much on my room. We are saving the one day tickets to use next year when we will not renew the ap. I also plan to do it again this year.

cool, thanks.
Ya, I already knew it would have to be rack rate and all, but figured the free dining would be worth it. ;) As long as I only had to buy a one day base ticket for everyone to get 7 days of free dining. My seasonal passes have long since paid for themselves, making this a killer deal in my opinion, just making sure it wasn't too good to be true.

I was considering this strategy, too, but was concerned about whether you had to use the one-day tickets during the time of your stay with the Dining Package. Has anyone used the one-day tickets after the original stay?

I booked a package with free dining for our party of 6. 2 Rooms at POFQ with 1 day tickets for all. My DD, friend & I already have AP's but we will just save those for a future trip. I will upgrade the 1 day passes for my other DD, DS, & DH to 8 day passes after we arrive at the resort. Even loosing a potential AP or AAA discount on the 2 rooms and having to purchase 3 one day passes is only about 1/2 the price of the dining plan so it will be worth it for us. AND....the package is pricing rooms at the value season price from the start so I am paying value season rates on the room when I would have to pay regular season rates so I'm really not loosing all that much in the way of discounts make the package an even better deal for me.

Hi, I'm also wondering if Disney allows us to exchange (6) 1-day tickets to (3) 3-day hopper tickets when we arrive and pay the difference. We're going with friends. Our family of 3 have leftover days on our passes. My friend's family of 3 needs tickets. So if each family buys a package with a 1-day base ticket, can I give them our (3) 1-day tickets to add to their (3) 1-day tickets so they can exchange for (3) 3-day hopper?
Thanks for helping with this question. I just want to look at some options before calling Disney to book.

I doubt it. As part of the package the tickets are likely tied to you by name and therefore not transferable (though I am not 100% on this, it's been a few years since I've booked a package). I also don't think they let you combine multiple tickets to get a credit towards an upgrade.

That is the way I understand it too. I would still be worth it for you to purchase the 1 day passes for the deal. The passes don't expire until 14 days after first use so as long as you don't use them you'll have them for a future trip.

so everyone in the party has to have a one day ticket....I would assume that those could be used towards renewing your ap as well.

you think? That would be great.

If not, as we have seasonal passes the day tickets would probably go towards a black out trip or something, but a "discount" on renewal would be even better.

My dh and I both have AP. We are taking advantage of the free dining package with my 2 children. We are still getting all of us 8 day PH but saving mine and dh for my children to use next trip. The CM that I made res with said that as long as we had not used ours we could do that. So now we get to plan a 2nd vacation. :bounce:

Yes it can. We bought 1 day tickets and are going to upgrade to AP's when we get there.
