So, I have a reservation for late august at POFQ for 40% off using a pin code I received a while ago. The rate with tax is 100.58 which is pretty teriffic. So now if free dining comes out, I could change it over. The issue for me is that we like the food court because with DD3 its just easier. Also, I can get tables in wonderland, which we can use at POFQ even in the food court - what do do?

I posted something like this a few days ago but I am in the same situation with a 40% pin. From the responses I received it seems that the free dining is a better deal if you are staying at a value or a mod (depending on number of people) but the 40% pin is better for deluxes. If your 3 year old is your only child then the 40% might work out better. I think it also depends on your eating habits also. If you like to eat at alot of buffets and TS restaurants than the dining is a good option but if you are more food court people than it might not be.

I just got back from WDW and we used the QSDP. We too find it easier to eat QS meals than sit-down with our DS. I couldn't have been happier with the QSDP! It worked out great. We did only 2 TS meals at Crystal Palace and T-Rex.
Use the 40% off code and add the QSDP. That would be my suggestion. :)

Missycj96, You are saving approx $67 with the 40% off. Can you all eat for $67 per day? Would your daughter be OK with buffet's where once you are in you can pretty much eat, no waiting for the food? Does your daughter like characters? These are the questions that I would be asking myself in your shoes. Our last trip we didn't get the DDP (not during free dining) because we had an almost 8 month old and I wasn't sure how he would do with all those TS meals. I made the reservations for them when he was under 2 months old. I didn't want to end up paying for and then missing TS meals. Well he did fine, so this trip we added DDP. We really enjoy the downtime in ac. You can usually find a counter service with AC, but it is usually a little less crazy at most TS restaurants. Good Luck.

The other thing to consider is that Tables in Wonderland includes alcholic beverages and doesn't force you into an entree, dessert and a drink for your meal. You can order whatever you want for you and each member of your party, even share meals if you want. There are only a couple of CS restaurants that take TiW, but since the POFQ restaurants take it, it seems like it could work to your advantage.

it all depends... we had a reservation 2 years ago at Caribbean Beach with Free dining. When I found out that I had a 40% off code, we switched our reservation to AKL savannah view, because I would never pay full price for that place, and DH wanted to stay there. So instead of free dining, we paid for dining and got 40% off ALK!

Yes, I would only do the free dining if you were going to take full advantage of the table service (We're totally planning on a Character meals each day!). But that means ADRS and your meals end up planning your day instead of the other way around. Otherwise the 40% off is better because you get the flexibility to eat where/when you want.

I would stay with the reservation at POFQ and get the T i W.

DH and I have booked 10 nights at POFQ at 40% but I am planning to switch to a value resort for the first 5 nights to get free dining. FD only makes sense for us at a value when you balance it against 40% off. We don't want the dining plan for our entire visit because at many restaurants I would prefer to eat appetizer and salad rather than an entree. You don't have that flexibility on the DP. You do on T i W however, which is another reason to go that route.

We have free dinning from a bounce back. Then the 40% military rate came out.Now with free dinning you have to buy a one day ticket, so for 2 of us that was 150.00 more. when the other offer came out, I thought I would take the 40% off the room,CBR and just buy the dinning, cause I really did not need tickets. When all was said and done, there was only a 75.00 difference. Cheaper with the 40%. But since we did not have to buy the ticket, I thought it should of been at least 150.00 difference. So kept the free dinning. They have messed up our ressie so many times, I am afraid to change anything, I am happy with what we got.:cool1:

Since you mentioned the military room discount I just wanted to let you know that if you are eligable to get the military room discount and the military discount tickets, they do offer a dining plan without needing to get tickets, since military already has the special tickets.

The code for quick service plan is EAN and the regular plan is FNB.
So if you are military eligable you can get the room discount, the ticket discount and the dining plan. It sounds like you don't need more choices, but I just wanted to make sure you knew all your options.:goodvibes
