Free dining open to public - Sunday, March 29

Hmmm...interesting. I can't imagine how this is going to work for the general public. I don't think Disney is going to let everyone walk in and eat for free or am I missing something? :confused3

We have ate free at disney for 2 years this will be our 3rd year...
they always open it for the general public but you have to book a room at rack rate .. and buy at least one park ticket person..

I have a question. If you have already booked your trip, is there anyway to apply the code online for the free dining, or do I have to call them. I'm guessing that I have to call.

I'm so excited!!! What is the phone number to call? Can it be added to a package that's already booked?

Is the number 407-939-6244?

I am in the same boat. I am really hoping that by some miracle, we could adjust it online, but I am betting that we will have to call. Anyone know for sure???

You can not adjust it. You'll have to call in. But what they can do is cancel your original reservation, and apply what you've already paid to your new FD reservation. There is different availability for special codes, so you would definately have to rebook.

So, I wouldn't need to give them the credit card info again, would I?

If you already have a package (room plus tickets) reservation, they will be able to apply the free dining code to your existing reservation, if there is free dining availability for the resort you booked on the dates you want. If you have a room-only reservation, they will cancel your current reservation and rebook as a package. If you've already paid in excess of $200 as a deposit on your previous reservation, they can apply that to the new package. If you've paid less than $200 they will charge you whatever it takes to get you up to a $200 deposit, as all packages require a $200 deposit.

no you will not need too.. plus half the time you don't even have to rebook .. they just apply the free dining to your ress ... all i did last year was call and they added the free dining and gave me a new total:thumbsup2

you have to call .. but it will only take a few mins:thumbsup2

Am I the only one here who is nervous about it? I'm really not sure if I am going to be able to sleep tonight or not. :rotfl2:

Do we need the code, or will they just honer it? If we do, how early will it be posted here, or should I look somewhere else? Help me please.... I freaking out!!! :lmao:

don't be nervous , I have booked free dining for the past 2 years and never had a problem getting what i wanted...

last year i didn't need a code... but if your worried go online after 7am and look at disneyworld. com and it will have a code posted on there and i'm sure you can even come here and i know someone will have it posted..:thumbsup2

I booked the FD for Disney Visa members at 7:30 A M Thursday. I didn't need a code. I just told the CM that I had heard that people with a Disney Visa could get free dining. I was on the phone about 20 minutes. It took extra time because this new reservation was replacing part of a previous one, and she had some trouble pulling up the old one.

Previous years Disney has advertised FD in newspapers for weeks so I think you can relax.

WHEW, hearing that makes me feel so much better. I have been looking everywhere to find out of they will just apply what I have already paid on my existing ressie package to the new package I will need to book tomorrow.
I will actually have to bump my dates up by two weeks in order to get FD.
I just mad ea pretty big payment on our package two weeks ago, so I didn''t want to have to make a new $200 deposit and then wait 10 days to get my already paid money refunded.

Do you know if the new package can be booked starting on 10/3, or if it will have to start before that date?

Thank you for your reassuring words. :goodvibes I sure hope that you are right. :rotfl2: I'm driving my DH crazy, along with everyone else that I know. I have been on the computer and on the phone a bunch today, talking about nothing but Disney.

Keep your fingers crossed. This is my first time to ever even try to get free dining. :cloud9:
