Does anyone remember if the FD offer to the Disney Visa cardholders last year extended into the Disney holiday season dates? I know that it was offered through Dec 20th, but was this day still considered value by Disney? I am wanting to go the 18th thru the 23rd this year. I am hoping that they have this same offer this year. But, since the holiday season starts on the 18th, I am wondering if they will cut it off on the 17th. Anyone have any ideas?? Of course, I know that there is a chance that this discount will not be offered this year....

Last years offer was a new offer starting Sept 28 through first day of stay of Dec 20 (for various dates, there were some not available) As long as your first day of stay was Dec 20, you could stay until Dec 31. I remember reading of all the happy posters getting FD for Christmas Week!! From what I recall the offer wasn't even offered until about the 2nd week of Sept. We had an AP room only starting Sept 28 for 54/night at ASMu but changed to the FD just about a week and a half before going. For the 28/night more we both couldn't eat so we changed to the FD!

Do you happen to remember if the 20th of last Dec was considered value or holiday season by Disney? My concern is that since the 18th is the start of holdiay season, that any discounts that come out will end on the 17th...:scared1:

I don't know but it doesn't matter usually now since Disney prices by the actual day. You can have different rates for season change or weekends. (this offer did give me Value prices for all my days even though we did overlap into Regular)

WDW website as well as Mousesavers.com lists the seasons for each hotel type. They, too, are different.

Thanks..that makes sense about the seasons. I didn't realize that different resorts had different season dates. Now, I just have to hope that they make the same FD offer this year like they did last!!! :yay:

You welcome! Good luck with getting the FD in Dec.

We went for the Disney VISA FD promo in Dec. '08 from 12/14-12/21.

On 12/18 the resort rate went up and the "seasonal pricing" for the the dining went into effect, but of course on the DDP that didn't affect us. Had to pay the higher resort rate in the package for the last few nights though. Since that was exactly one week before the holiday I expect it will be the same this year if they offer FD.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I'm not that patient! I want to book now but I refuse to pay full price! :rotfl:

You can always go ahead and book and then have them apply the discount when it comes out. If a discount doesn't come out, you can cancel and get a refund. That is what I am planning on doing. I'm afraid if I wait until September to book, then it may be hard to get a room.

Sweet! Clever decision. I should do the same thing. hehe :)

There is so many thing going on and I am not done yet with my research. Needed more notes on how to get good deals. This is definitely one things I will be considering doing.

Thanks.
