Free Dining - no longer available?

I just called to make a payment on my hotel only ressie for Sept and the guy I spoke was pushing really hard to get me to upgrade to the free dining package (not worth it for me since i'm an AP holder). I told him I know there is no guarentee of AP rates, but I'm holding out for those. He still pushed me on it, calculating the price difference and everything for me (can't blame him, I'm sure it's being recorded how many packages someone brings in) - but what surprised me was he kept insisting today is the last day to book the free dining package since I though it was until the 25th. I told him I had heard it was until then and he told me he had not been told that.

Oh, I hope the person who originally posted the info about the 25th didn't mishear what the CM said and that the other sites who posted the 25th confirmed the extension with Disney.
As of yesterday, there was plenty of availability at the deluxes for mid August. Maybe everyone waited until late last night to book.
I wasn't able to call CRO today but will try tomorrow.

I don't know about the extension but my DD called Friday - June 2 - and booked our dates at a value (sports). She wanted Pop but it was full for the free dinning! I would suggest if it is exteneded and you want to stay value try Music or Sports as they are the last to fill.

I was able to book a package with free dining today, even though the website shows the offer as expired. The cm I talked to said it had been extended until the 25th.

Odd thing.. we tried to call and get POP on Thurday for my friend and they were booked so we went to the web site and we got a room.. I will never get it.. but I am happy we got a room.

On saturday i called to book pop with free dining 8/23-8/30 and two different cm's said they only had preferred rooms left. After hanging up with the I booked it on the website for those dates with a standard room.

Just checked the website and it is still showing June 4. I do wish Disney would sort out their communications, this is not good

Be patient. Offers generally show up a few days later on the website. The offer is extended to June 25.

Actually, I did save some money by calling. I think like $10.- $15., not sure why that was. I did say to CM, oh and cheaper too. He chuckled. May not be alot, but that sure can help go into the gas budget I need to get to WDW.

Not Wazzo, but if I had to make a guess, I would say it's because you can check countless times on the website without anyone knowing. When you call, they log your calls. At least I THINK that they do. Because I mentioned to a CM on the phone the other day that I had been trying to get a value and would keep calling. And she said that she saw that I had checked those dates several times. Or something like that.

For me, it would be the anonymity.

You got it! I'm not 100% sure yet, so I wanted to play around. I was going to call to make the final deal, or use a TA, but I like to look on the site.

ALSO, I gravitate towards websites because I don't really like customer service on the phone. I blame my phone company for jading me!!!

There is a link, but it does not work. When you put in dates, it tells you the package is no longer available. I guess I'll have to call after all. I am just not sure if we will be able to go yet.

THIS IS BAD ....We had booked our flight (jetBlue) and planned on booking the package the next day. After seeing the pushing back of the booking date we waited, and now the date of our trip is BEFORE the 20th We are scheduled with jetBlue for the 17th to the 23rd .....this stinks.

Why would you book a flight before you had a room? I thought you did it the other way..

Anyway, I had to call today and try to move resorts and the reason the date says the 20th now is because there are really no rooms left from the 13th to the 20th. You may still be able to get one but there are so few I guess they did not make those dates a choice.
More people are going in our group now and we wanted to all be at the same resort but no luck. We will have people at POP, Music, AKL, and GF. We tried to get all rooms ( 7 in all) at one resort other than GF and it was a no go.
