Free dining is here!!!

Was on hold for 35 minutes but then was able to book CBR 9/19-9/23. I usually book park passes when I get there so I was a bit shocked when I heard my total was just over $1000. I guess with everything spread out (buying airfare, then booking resort, then buying park passes at WDW and food there) it seemed cheaper. I guess I can relax more when I get to WDW since most of the payments will already be taken care of.

I just checked my reservation on the Dreams Unlimited web site and the changes have already been made!

In our case, the free dining plan is much better than the 40% code. We've saved nearly $400!!!

It makes me very happy to see the price of our trip go lower and lower. ;)

I called and updated our reservation for Sept. WOO HOO!!! This will be our first time using this. I was on the phone a total on 30 minutes.

:worship::worship::worship:

Thank you so much for posting the link first thing this morning. I was on the Disneyparks site and the offer wasn't posted yet (at 6:30) By clicking on your link I was able to make our ressie for exactly what we wanted in less than 5 minutes!

We wanted FD to go with our girls trip to do the Expedition Everest Challenge Sept 25-29! We got POFQ for 3 nights, 2 A, 2 16yo, 1 day base for $911. :banana:

I have a question about free dining, please.:confused:

I will be arriving to CBR probably some time after 9pm and have booked free dining. On which day does the free dining begin? Can it be the first morning after my arrival as we'll be getting to Orlando too late to have three meals the arrival date? Also, my flight home is not until after 3pm, so do I get to use my free dining on the last day of my trip before heading home? My dates are 9/19-9/23.

The # of meals is based on the # of nights on your reservation.

Example: Arrive Monday, leave Wednesday. You are staying Monday night and Tuesday night (2). You would have 2 Table, 2 Quick Service and 2 Snacks total.

The dining doesnt "start" or "end". If youre staying 4 nights youll get 4 TS, 4CS, and 4 snack credits to use from the second you check in to midnight of the night you check out.

O.K. just got off the phone with DBIL and gave him the code...He said I will book when I get home from work:eek:

I was like DO NOT wait!!!!, do it now!

Maybe it is me, or the Disney nut in me, but I could neeeeeeeeeeever wait!
.

Oh, I'm with you! I was on the phone last year for free dining as soon as I could! I was on hold for awhile but I called on my cell so I could do my normal morning routine as well.

Sadly, Dh has said no to free dining this year because we did it last year (Plus there is a lot going on in our family this year so another big expense is not possible). But after enough pouting, and making browing points by inviting both my mom and his mom, I did get his to agree to 2010...if there's free dining then. Here's hoping......:sad2:

Hooray!! I've been holding out to see if this would be offered!! I'm booking this week! Happy and Delicious B-day to me :dance3:

Your dining plan will be good when you check-in until midnight the day you check out. You get credits for each night of your stay.

I am extremely exited!!! My father-in-law and brother-in- law are booking right now!!!

They were grilling me last night:rotfl2: They kept saying are you sure its free???:rotfl2:

When I was booking my honeymoon in 2006 I was a disney newbie. I stumbled onto the Disboards rather by accident and everyone was talking about "free dining". I didn't believe it. I asked someone to explain exactly what one was getting with this "so called" free dining...the response I got from one diser was "Basically you'll eat like a pig your entire vacation and not have to pay for any of it. at all. hence...FREE!:rotfl2: This was back when appetizers were part of it and tip was taken care of...we definitely felt a little oinky by the end of the trip!:thumbsup2

Your Welcome:thumbsup2

O.K. maybe I am totally pathetic, but I was soooooooooo exited to be the first one who posted this:lmao: Did I say I was the first one to post this:rotfl2:

I am pathetic like that...I have scoured the DIS feverishly for the last 2 years and I joined around free dining last year.

Once Robo answered my post, and I was completely in awe that he answered me:rotfl2:

I told you that I am pathetic...but the DIS made such a huge impact on my Disney planning and I will be forever grateful to all DIS'ers!:grouphug:

you aren't pathetic! You are the Disney angel bringing glad tidings of joy!!:santa::goodvibes

I'm trying to sell my husband on the idea right now...we're doing a short Disney trip by ourselves in June as we will happily be in Orlando for a conference...the august trip would be for the kids!! FINGERS CROSSED!!! He said just last night "Well maybe if free dining was offered..." He didn't think it would be. Silly man. I so enjoyed texting him the good news!!!:lmao:

Thank you, Nie0214, mbanks21 and penjen.:grouphug:

Sounds like as soon as we check in to CBR, we're good to go for food. Just have to check our receipts to make sure we don't run out of meals early or something.

I just saved our group of 7 $1,960 with FD! :teacher:

And I even got to sleep in because my great TA at DU - Wendy - reserved our 3 rooms for us at AsMu Sept 23-30. :thumbsup2

Me -> :woohoo: DH -> :cool1: DSis -> :yay:

DS#1 -> :cool2: DS#2 -> :banana: DD: -> :cloud9: DN: -> pirate:

Yippeeeeeeee!!!

I just added free dining to my existing reservation which is 9/30 to 10/8 with no problems. So long as your vacaction starts before free dining ends you will be able to book for the whole trip!

Good Luck!

Hmmmm, when I called this morning, the CM I spoke with 'Archie', said I my stay could not extend past the end date of free dining,10/3.
So I was forced to book a week earlier. I sure hope DH can get that week off now,LOL
