Free dining in Nov

I know free dining was offered the past couple of Nov, but can anyone tell me when the blackout dates around Thanksgiving were.

Dates for FD last year:

September 29 - October 2, 2013
October 18 - November 2, 2013
November 11 - 23, 2013
December 12 - 22, 2013

Free dining ended on Saturday, 11/23/13. We received it for our 6 night stay at AKL 11/23-11/29. As long as you checked in by Saturday before thanksgiving, you received it for the entire stay.

FYI: in 2012, FD ended on the Thursday before thanksgiving. We didn't receive it that year because we checked in on Sunday. DH didn't want to take off 2 more days from work, so we paid for DDP.

I'm hoping for FD this year. We are arriving on Friday 11/21 for 3 nights before our 2nd disney cruise.

Im actually planning my first trip to WDW in 14years and thinking of flying out the 28th.
If free dining becomes available how do I add the promotion?
Is it only available to those who purchased a package? I was able to get on the orbits 20% off deal and currently in the hunt to select an onsite resort.

If FD is available for your dates(date you checkin) you must book a package, room and tickets (usually 2 day tix) with Disney in order to get FD.
