In order to get the free dining at the end of August, can you only get the MYW base ticket? Or can you upgrade to a hopper and still get the free dining?

You just have to book a package. It doesn't matter what grade of ticket you get with the package.

The Base tickets are the minimum required - what you choose to add on is up to you. Don't worry - Disney will glady take the extra money! We did the FD promo 3 yrs in a row, and mixed it up each time with no troubles.

We just bought 1 day base tickets so that we would qualify for the free dining package as we get in for free and don't need extra tickets.

FYI: Disney told me that everyone in your party/reservation HAS to buy the same type and length of tickets. I was hoping to just buy just one 1 day base ticket for me but it's all or nothing.
