free dining for value resort question

When Disney offers free dining is it only quick service at the value resort level? Looking at what they might offer for the end of October. Was thinking maybe if you stay at the value you only get QS and at Mod you get sit down.

As of right now, no one knows!

There is much speculation and it seems to be the best guess that it will be QS for values and traditional dining plan for mods & deluxes but truthfully, we wont know for sure until it is released!

There are no specific details on what may occur IF FD is released.

In the past, all resort levels got the regular DP. Last year was also that way until FD was extended through December...the extended dates had the values get the QSDP while mods & deluxes received the regular DP. There is a lot of speculation that this year will have it tiered as well...values with QSDP, mods & deluxes with regular DP. The FD offer is rumored to be released on May 3rd, so we just have to wait and see.

Bear in mind, though, that if you're looking for an end of October date, you may not see FD heading your way. It typically only goes from mid-August to the very beginning of October to accomodate the value season. Last year they did extend it, but there isn't a guarantee they'd do the same this year. Right now we're only hearing about a possible FD promo for the typical mid-August to early October time frame.

Just another FYI...Disney doesn't traditionally offer Free Dining for the end of October. It normally runs middle/end of August throught Sept and sometimes into the first week of October. After that it is normally pretty busy between the Food and Wine Festival and Halloween so they may not feel the need to offer it. Of course they may or may not extend it (and of course the may or may not announce Free Dining).

Ok, thanks that helps. So from past years the end of October time frame isn't offered FD and if offered it comes out fairly late. So if I want to have things all booked and not have to worry anymore don't hold out on a great sale for late October.

The post card I got last week for now through June, I think, it stated that the Values would be getting the Quick Service Dining Plan.

Yep, this is a PIN that has been going out for a while now. I got the postcard back in February.

In past years FD was only offered from mid to late August to the first couple of days in October. Only last year was it extended through December, but at a tiered level rather than all resorts getting regular DDP (during the extension, values got QSDP). As for when the promo came out, that has varied. The first year, it didn't release until June. Then it was in April a few times. Last year it was March. This year it's possibly Mary 3rd.

As far as not holding out for a great promo for your time frame...you may still get one. Keep an eye out, especially on here as people start reporting what they have. I believe the 20/30/40 PIN going around has various dates through December (someone correct me if I'm wrong). You may not get free dining, but promos still go around.
