Free Dining for September 27, 2014??????

We are booked for our first Disney trip September 27-October 4. I've seen in the past they exclude the last weekend in September for free dining dates. Anyone know why? Thanks!

At this point its anyones guess. Last year it went through the 25. Its always been around the 29th in years past. Who knows what they will do this year. We are booked 23-30, I would like FD or any good discount. Wouldn't cancel if its not announced, unless when I go to do my ADRs this week, I can't get them. If I can't get what I want, I will cancel and rebook for October when the weather is a little cooler. I won't go in September if our favorite restaurants aren't available, AND its hot, AND there's no FD.

I am not sure if WDW still does this but it worked out great for us a few years ago. If you check in on the last day of a free dining period you get free dining for your entire stay. We extended a few days on the front of our trip because free dining was available up to Nov 1st. We checked in on the 1st and had the dining plan free for the following 10 days even though those days were excluded from Free dining.
It does't work the same way with room discounts. You have to be staying at the resort during the timeframe that the room only discount is available.

If you have some flexibility in your trip dates then maybe you can adjust it to work with free dining if/when it is announced.

last year they offered the free dining from Sept 2nd to Sept 25th. i remember because thats when i went last year

and for those who were lucky to get a pin code, they were offered the free dining plan these dates:

For arrivals most nights 8/25–10/2/13,
10/18–10/31/13, 11/11–11/23/13,
11/30–12/4/13 and 12/15–12/22/13.

TOT race is also the first weekend in October as well. I don't know if it will follow the Bounce Back offer, but the last day to begin FD for it was Sept 29.
