Looking to go to Disney World the last week in September 2015 and I'm hoping the free dining will be available. Does anyone know when it starts to be offered. We wanted to stay at a moderate hotel, looking into the Port Orleans - French Quarter. Any others we should look at.

Thank you for your time

We are going sept 28th to oct 2nd and hoping for free dining as well. we have had it every time we have gone the last 4 years.
They say historically it is offered during september every year... so hopefully!
I do remember it being kind of a last minute thing though.
I think disney put out the offer only 1-2 months before we left.

We are staying at CBR this time but will of course switch if it isn't offered at our resort.

fingers crossed for us!

We're hoping for free dining in the end of September, as well! The thing to keep in mind unfortunately is that some resorts are going to be excluded depending on if they're full already before the offer is sent out.

I think it is typically offered around April or May for the fall. I see no reason it would not be offered again. As the 180 day mark is fast approaching, I would book it and start planning now. You can call and add the FD promo after it os announced. Certainly book before the 180 day window opens so you can get your ADR and FP+ booked.

I've heard they might be cutting back on the free dining. Fall this year was much busier than fall usually is, they do free dining to fill rooms and if they don't need it to fill the rooms ;) I do hope they will continue it but if your trip is dependent on it I wouldn't book quite yet.

generally if free dining is gonna be offered its announced between mid march and mid may.

be aware that the very end of september is not always included in the dates at least not during the initial offer.

as far as moderates go i'd say port orleans french quarter is the best.

My 40th birthday is on Sept 20th which is prompting my trip. I would looooove to get in on the free dining as my boyfriend is a food fiend and it would help with the expense a lot. My plan is to go for 7-10 days but as long as I'm there on my actual bday, the arrival and departure dates are not important. Does anyone know based on past years, do I have a better shot at free dining (and crowds) if I book more to the middle of the month or the end of it? Thanks in advance for the advice! :flower3:

Not sure of the implications of this on the USA market as we usually have completely different prices and packages here in the UK but:

The UK generally have free dining available for most of the year, with the exception of spring break and around the Christmas holidays. This has not typically been a late offer. It is generally available most of the time to us when booking from the UK.

However, at the end of November, I noticed that there does not appear to be any option of booking free dining on the UK site for next year.

It was previously available, I know this because I have a trip 10th March with free dining, it's just that they have withdrawn all the dates at the moment.

Obviously, this does not mean anything as to whether it will be offered in the USA, but I would feel that with the parks and resorts so full and doing so well at the moment, it would be logical for Disney to try and reduce the discounts.

I really hope the free dining doesn't go away for good though. We love the dining plan and would miss not having it.

my dad is a travel agent for disney, they dont offer FD at POFQ anymore, its too popular and they dont have an issue filling the rooms.

I read an interesting thread recently on this subject. So many people are booking in advance "hoping for free dining" that Disney is blacking out more dates because there are current reservations. So it makes sense. If you book in advance Disney sees that as the "resort is filled" no need to offer free dining.

I was hoping for FD as well this October but I don't think it will happen! And a lot of the popular moderates are also being excluded as PP mentioned.
