Free dining for September 2009?

If I book my vacation before they announce the free dining, can I still get free dining if I go during the time period. Looking at the time period mentioned in this thread, we will be going during when it might be/will be offered. I'm just not sure I want to wait until April to book my tickets/package.

You can book now and add the fd code to the reservation when they announce it. You will have to call and give them the specific code and tell them you want it applied to your existing reservation - they will not do it automatically.

Thank you for the info. Very helpful! I figured they wouldn't do it automatically, but it's good to know that they will apply it to an existing reservation. Would they give us a refund if we have already paid the balance (we are financially in a position to pay it all off when we make the reservation)?

Yes, they will refund the difference, but I've seen some people say it takes up to two billing cycles to get the refund. I'd just wait and not pay the balance in full. And just as a disclaimer to adding the code to your existing reservations when it comes out, each resort is only alloted so many rooms for the free dining promotion. If you do not add the code quickly, meaning in the first day or two it is announced, there is a possibility that your resort could "run out" of free dining rooms. It's always good to have a back up resort in case your first choice is sold out.

Awesome, thank you. As mentioned, the refund taking a while is not too much of a problem, since we are not relying on it to be able to afford the vacation.
