Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Quick Question - Assuming the FD Dates for December are correct 15-21st.
If we do 2 separate ressies - A RO ressie for Dec 13 & 14th & a separate FD PACKAGE ressie for Dec 15-19th (including tickets) would it be possible to start using the theme park tickets early with the RO ressie on the 13th?

Is there any possibility at all that VISA and GP could come out the same day or has it always been that VISA card holders get a few days head start historically?

I think it has always been DV card holders first but I think it all may go live Monday, just gut feeling

Yes. It's called early package ticket pickup. If both stays are at the same resort, you may be able to get them at the concierge desk. If not, you can do it at guest services at any of the four parks or downtown Disney.

Is there a set time that offers are available to book online? I know I booked my 2013 Fall Free Dining at 12:05 am on the day it dropped (the year the Disney Visa didn't get a head start), because I just happened to check the site and saw it up.

In 2013, they released FD for September 2-29 for Visa cardholders on 5/6/13 and general public on 5/9/13. Then, on 8/1/13, they released the FD offer to the general public for dates 9/29/13 to 12/22/13, there was no Visa early release.

Soooo, anything's possible!

When you drive straight through do you do parks on your first day? We usually drive to Jacksonville or thereabouts and check into a hotel (or campground when we have the trailer) for the night and then get up a little late, have breakfast and drive the 2-1/2 hours in. I just worry driving straight through I would be spent by the time we got there.

We do not go to the parks the first day. The first time we went we went with my dad (he stopped on stayed at a hotel) so we left my husband at the resort to sleep while we went to Downtown Disney. We were staying at the Saratoga that time. The last time we went we checked into a hotel in Orlando for 1 night since FD did not start until the next day. I just took the kids swimming in the pool. This time we are leaving a day earlier then we planned to give the extra time. We are booked at CBR and the kids are excited to go swimming in the pool. My husband will take a nap then for dinner we are going to 1900 Park Fare. We most likely will not get to disney until like noon on or a little later on our check in day.

No. No set time.

"Unfortunately, as Disney's occupancy rates have risen each year, the number of discounted rooms seems to be getting smaller and smaller."

Nope, that doesn't make me nervous at all, no sir. :sad2:

The way southwest works is that their earliest sales for any particular dates are the best sales. The price generally goes up slightly with each sale after that. So start looking for sales as soon as the November dates come out. Also remember that you can always change your flight and receive a credit if a lower rate comes out on southwest.
I was able to get roundtrip airfare w/ SWA for $276 with their Wanna Getaway fare for mid-October. I booked March 3, so that was more than 7 months ahead...definitely book early as the fare for the same flights are now $376...that's a HUGE increase for having only been available for about 2 months!

People would tell us, oh you should wait, it gets cheaper as it gets closer. Heck no I'm not taking that risk lol.

I Thought that was the case also - I called Disney & the CM told me no, that you could only use it the first date you check in on the package your tickets were with. I didn't think that was the case either. Thanks SMITCH

I agree rooms at a discount are becoming harder and harder to get. I think I'm going to be paying through the nose for airfare. I'm getting a little nervous. Southwest flights are showing sold out, especially for nonstops, or have gone way up. Also, SW has cut back on the number of flights, especially on the return. I'm looking at October. I monitor the flights daily. I've been down the road with them and even if they say sold out, I've seen flights become available again. I told my DH, if I see something I'm buying it. He's a monthly budget kind of a guy.

What is driving me crazy is we planned our check in date for Aug 29th. I can make it Aug 30th but it would be a pain. I'm hoping the FD promo follows the rumor and is released for mid August....but my gut tells me it's going to be Aug 30.....the waiting to find out is making me bonkers.

Do you check nearby airports too?

We check in August 27. It's definitely gonna be released for 15th. They're doing that exclusively at our request. No worries! (I'M JUST KIDDING!)
