Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

We frequently use southwest and I've never been able to get a better price then the price I get when they first release, even with the sales they offer here&there. But I suppose it depends where you are flying out of and to also.

I suppose that's true. For me I am always looking at flights from Indy or Louisville to Vegas. When the flight comes out the standard rate might be $204 each way. With the first sale it could drop to $160 each way. Then the next sale it might be $170, then $178, then $188. In between sales it goes back up to $204- $212. I have had it do a drop closer to the date before but that's an exception to the rule. maybe it's best to keep an eye on the pattern of your specific city.

When you drive straight through do you do parks on your first day? We usually drive to Jacksonville or thereabouts and check into a hotel (or campground when we have the trailer) for the night and then get up a little late, have breakfast and drive the 2-1/2 hours in. I just worry driving straight through I would be spent by the time we got there.

No parks on arrival day, after a straight through drive it's kids in the pool while adults relax or nap. Even if we stay in a hotel overnight, it's 6-7 hours each leg.

We've stayed at Sports and loved it. We're sports nuts though.

14 hours is a long time. I cut off traveling by car at 8 hours lol

We are a 17 hour drive away. We were really going to try and do it this year. However, when Southwest released the fares and we 258.00 round trip/pp, that idea went right out the window!

We don't have a Disney Visa so at least I don't have to worry about that.

My plan is when the deal is released to the GP I will start dialing the phone to attempted to switch my current resort reservation around but I will also be trying to book a new reservation online. I won't modify my original reservation around on that day because I know on a typical day MDE is wonky, I imagine it will only be worse on a deal release day. If I am able to get a new reservation booked with free dining I will cancel my original trip. Or if I get through on the phone I will have them do the legwork.

Great minds think alike The last thing I want to do is mess up everything by playing around on the website. I'll book a new reservation online but for any tweaking of the existing reservation, I am definitely calling.

Depending on your kids ages you will get to board the plane right after group "A" anyway. We have never paid the priority booking and never have had an issue with this- nobody wants to sit next to our kids all flight w/o one of there to watch over. Trust me, I would LOVE them to take them for a couple hours, lol.

Our kids will be 10, 8 and 2 when we fly in November. Will we still qualify for the family boarding? We will also be with my sister and her family. There will be ten people all together in our group wanting to sit somewhere near each other. We dont care if all the adults are near each other, but the kids need to be sitting with one of the adults in our party...make sense? So I'm thinking we will NOT pay the extra group A fare this time around and see what happens!

I think y'all have convinced me to go ahead and book the day our fares are released (May 14th!) If the prices happen to drop, I will call in for a credit. It stinks that the credits are non-transferable though....I could use it to fly my MIL down to visit if that was the case.

So now I have all these dates to keep track of....FD release (hoping!), ADR date, SW fare dates, etc! I hope I don't forget something

I think that's the same way I am! All my dates are within two weeks of each other, so lots of early mornings staring at a computer screen or on the phone.

We always book Southwest the morning flights are released. We've never seen them cheaper for our dates, and nonstops sell out quickly.

I would go with sports to be first on the bus stops. We stayed at music last year and were underwhelmed.

We currently have Riverside booked in September with free dining(we did the bounceback offer while we were there last year). My mom is going with us and would prefer to go in November. We could go during the dates being offered for November, but with the rumor of Riverside being excluded, does that mean we would have to change resorts, or since we have Riverside right now, could we just move the dates? Hope that makes sense and thanks for the help.

As long as one in your party is 4 years old and younger.

I don't believe the FD bounceback included dates in November. And POR is rumored to be excluded after October 2 from FD.

No it's based on your check in date. Your check in date would have to fall within the available dates.
