Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I miss Black. I felt so badly for him that people attacked him for the little bits he might have been off when he was doing his very best to share RUMORS (i.e. - we don't know all the truth) and so many attacked him. He had such great information to share and people ran him off. Can't say I blame him at all...but I do miss him!
Yeah, he's on twitter and facebook but he does not share like he used to do on here. Guess once burnt...

I noticed a couple people hoping for Little mermaid at AOA with FD..I use to hope every year but it never happened. Does anyone think differently this year? I'd be shocked but wouldn't mind it! But totally doubt it.

From the stuff I've read, attendance last year, particularly in the fall, was way up, and beyond expectations. I would expect to see the dates and the number of rooms (maybe not resorts) eligible for free dining to be more restricted this year. They don't want the bad PR of not offering it at all, but I think a lot fewer people are going to be able to get it. I just hope that I"m one!

I called to see if I was overlooking any codes.... nope. :scared: I'm still in the "No PIN Club" with the other cool kids. :smooth:

The CM on the phone told me that discounts come out every month to month in a half and the latest they have out go through 8/27. She didn't volunteer any other info, though, try as I may to find out. :tiptoe::tiptoe::tiptoe:

I'm at POP, in EARLY September for a week, purchasing the upgrade to the + dining. If FD comes out, I may either stay at POP...OR...I'll have to do the math since you get the TS plan @ the moderates...a moderate may be cheaper! Guess I can't even think about it until announcements are made. :bored:

Hmm...now I'm wondering again if we should book through a travel agent since we will be trying to book 3-4 rooms depending on the resort. It seems like it may be kind of complicated to orchestrate! I would hate to mess it up, but I'm also having control issues in trusting a travel agent. We can be flexible on the resort but not on our dates. Will it really be that hard to book a GP offer ourselves? I'm thinking that calling would be the best route to go if we book it ourselves so that our reservations are linked. Reading some of the PP does make me wonder if a TA gives you an extra advantage. We are definitely waiting to see if FD is for sure coming before we do anything. Maybe we wait until the DV offer comes out and then book with a TA with the hope that they can switch us to FD when the GP offer arrives???

If you have done it before then you could probably manage it by calling yourself. However, I like your idea of booking with TA once you know the Visa offer, then leaving it up to them to switch to free dining. You can still have control over ADR and FP. Just any changes you make have to be done thru them.

Thank you! That's what I'll be doing. :)

One last question, if anyone knows: if you adjust your package, and change the hotel, etc, is my Memory Maker purchase affected? Because I bought it at the $150 price, and I know it's $20, but I'm cheap, haha. I guess if I'm saving money changing my package around for more than $20, I'll just deal. haha

If the price of MM has gone up then from what I know your new price would go up. It is like a cancel and rebook, although the hotel ressie # stayed the same when we switched to RO discount last year.

Do any values offer rooms for 5? I think just AoA which ends up being more for us than Mod.

Just AoA suites and ASMu like already mentioned...but these are more than Caribbean Beach which also sleep 5.plus you would get the regular DDP.

With your children the ages they are it will still be less expensive to stay at POP but not a huge jump to move up to a moderate. Certainly worth considering for 2 queen beds over 2 double beds!

Hi all,

I'm just trying to find out the basics in case free dining becomes available. We have booked our hotel (CBR), flights and 14 day park tickets through the Walt Disney World website. Everything is all linked up on MDE and we've made the dining reservations we wanted for the duration of our stay. If free dining was to become available during our stay how do we ask for it to be added to our booking? Can I add it via MDE? Does anything happen to our existing reservations? Does is cost anything?

Thanks,

Amy

Another option to consider is booking 2 rooms at POP and requesting adjoining rooms. It will be less expensive than any of the suite options or moderate rooms and will give you the added bonus of 2 bathrooms and 4 beds. Just a thought. I often help friends book this when their families are 5 people.

I would love for it too. We had free dining there the week they opened in 2012 (think we were lucky and thanks to posts on here I saw someone get it and I called right then and had 3 rooms switched over - my first wonderful experience on here that got me hooked!). I want to go back there but don't want to spring for a suite and DH doesn't want to give up the chance for discounts anymore.

I doubt I would have any codes under my name(only started going to Disney in the last three years) but I kinda just want to call for giggles and pray. But I think I've got my list for when(being positive) FD comes out. If I can manage it, it'll be at least a $200 savings, but I'm hoping for around $600. Fingers crossed.

Question: I am handling all trip details for my parents who have a reservation separate from ours. As long as I have their confirmation/ressie #, I should be able to apply the FD discount to theirs at the same time I call to have it added to my own, right?

Was just told by 2 CMs that special offers are first come first served... Makes no difference if you have an existing reservation

No it doesn't for the free dining, but if you want to make ADRs at 180+10 days and your ADR window opens before free dining is released you need the reservation.

I would still call and check. Theres people who have never actually been to Disney that get UOCs. Theres always a chance :)

My ADR opens Monday LOL. I really hope as a Disney Visa member I get this offered emailed to me so at least I know
I can't win. I'll be so busy getting my dining res, hope I don't have to switch dates on top of probably having to switch resorts.

I wonder what the chances are that they would only release dates through September this round. Also, how would two rooms at POP be cheaper than a moderate resort?

I wouldn't wait for an e-mail. If you can, get up and do your ADRs online at 6am EST so that when 7am rolls around you can call ASAP for the free dining. Visa doesnt tend to send an e-mail until later in the day on the release day.

When I checked last year, they werent. But to some people the little extra they are paying is worth having the extra space and extra bathroom.
