Free Dining Extra Day!

I know there has been some talk about adding a day or 2 to an existing reservation with free dining. Well I called last week and asked about adding a day and was told I could but would not get the free dining and it would be a seperate reservation, which was fine and what I expected, I didnt book because I didnt have air fare yet and was just seeing what the cost would be. Well I got my air fare last Friday and it was so much cheaper to fly in a day earlier that the saving paid for the extra night! So I called yesterday to add the extra night and the guy says "let me see if I can just add a day to your reservation so you can get the free dining", well a minute later he says "yep I can do that for ya".. I even asked to verify that I did have the free dining for the extra day, one TS one CS and one snack and he "yep you sure do". So if you are trying for an extra day and dont get it, just try calling back and maybe you will get lucky.

I have been trying for months to add another night to my stay at the POP, but have been unsuccessful. /cry.

I tried again today since your post gave me hope, but still no luck for me. I added the night a while ago, but as a stand alone room only ressie and today is the last day to cancel that one without penalty. /cry again.

sometimes they can do things that the CRO CMs can't. It's worth a try!!!

I'm one of those who called a couple times to add nights without luck... I now have 3 separate reservations because I added a night to the beginning and a night to the end of my free dining package... I even spoke with guest relations and she said I couldn't do it... so... I've been told it depends on availability of rooms for free dining (if there's any left)... Since I'm staying at a value (ASMu), I think that is why I've been out of luck!

We are booked at Pop and I added a day last week, then called and added another day a few days later. (So added a total of 2 days onto my existing Free Dining reservation) I confirmed both times that I was receiving Free Dining on the added days. I was surprised I was able to and though maybe I was pushing my luck when I went for the second added day.

I originally booked 9/20-9/27 during Bounceback.

Keeping trying maybe?

I feel for those who can only add days as a separate reservation; we did that last year and while it was not a huge pain, it was a little annoying having to re-check-in and whatnot. We also had three reservations due to adding a day at the beginning and end. We didn't have free dining last year though, just a room discount.

I was told that I couldn't add an extra night during free dining, so I booked just a room. Later on I called and tried to switch it over and was told no, because the promotion was over. Then I called back and the CM was very helpful, she added it on without a problem. She told me that the first two CM's were wrong, that you can still add on as long as you aren't past the 45 day window to make changes. I understand if there are no rooms available, but if you have a ressie for an additional night that is room only I don't see why it couldn't be just added on to the free dining.

We added a day to our stay at Pop so we do could do the MNSSHP and were also told we wouldn't have free dining for that day - and we still have to go through the whole check out/check in thing that last day and may have to change rooms. Argh!

I called last week and was able to add a night to my Free Dining ressies and I am getting FD for that night too.
We are staying at POR so maybe that helped.

So after reading this last night I gave WDW a call this morning and a very helpful CM fixed me up! Instead of having to check in/out on the 4th day and not have the free dining that day either, we now have just one reservation for all 4 nights and the free dining for that last day too. She was very helpful and said whoever I spoke to before that made me book the room as a separate stay didn't know what he was talking about.

OR that you are simply adding an additional day that still falls WITHIN free dining (either the beginning or end of reservation)?

I want to call back and try but I've been basically laughed at by CM telling me it isn't possible to do... even Guest Services said it was after the promotion and that is why I couldn't add days with free dining- just as separate reservations...

To answer in our case - our entire stay there is DURING the free dining promotion (9/6-9/10). What I was told by the first CM is that when I wanted to add that extra day (the night of the 9th), that because the promo to SIGN UP FOR free dining was over, I couldn't have it, and had to make a new reservation for that last night. Today though, a CM said he was wrong and fixed it.

If someone's stay fell into a day where the free dining promo was no longer running, then yes I can see that being denied - but I'm not sure if anyone here is saying they did that or not!

I had booked our honeymoon for 9/19-9/30, then looked and found out that it would be cheaper to fly in on the 18th...I was able to call (7/31) and add the 18th to our trip...no problems. I even made sure I had dining, and she said yes. Then, I got my trip confirmation, and it has the dates 9/18-9/30 at CSR for the MYW PKG + FREE DINING (I used my Disney visa code).

So, I figured that everyone was having no problems like me. Keep trying I guess!

I just added an additional day on the end of my trip because airfaire was cheaper. We were originally going to stay August 28th to September 2nd. However our airfaire was twice as much to fly out on September 2nd as it was on September 3rd so we decided to stay an extra night. I called this past Friday (August 1st) and they added the extra night for us and we got another night for FREE dining.

I just called about our extra day (9/14). We arrive on 9/5 and was checking out on 9/13; no "free dining" in a standard room for 9/14 so I just got the room only. She told me to call each day to see if a room will open for the 14th and then add the park tickets and "free" dining would be no problem.

I just called yesterday and got a very helpful CM. Airline changed our flights so we needed to go in the day before. I was going to book room only, but then I would have to buy a 1 day ticket ($$). The CM said-let me check to see if I can make the change, sure enough it took the additional day on the front end of the pkg and the free dining code stayed on. I did the math while I was on the phone and she was right. (Hooray) Got the confirmation email and it looks exactly the same only now it is for 7 nts.

FYI-we were well after the 45 day cutoff, we had upgraded to the deluxe plan and all of our days are in the free dining promotion time frame.
