Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

I called today and no PIN attached to my name. But she checked my dates and found a free dining discount for me. Told her i wanted moderate. She checked my first resort choice , POR, and nothing available. But did have spots for CBR and CSR. Now booked for October 2-8 at CBR with free dining!!

Yea!!! Happy for you!!! Makes everything a little bit sweeter!:woohoo:

I am wondering if WDTC agents have been given permission to apply free dining for certain dates/resorts that have unusually low occupancy rates. And also, maybe when we call, some folks are speaking with CRO agents vs. WDTC agents, who do not have the means/authorization to offer free dining????? And maybe too Disney is trying to fill up the less popular resorts/room categories before free dining is made available to GP???? :confused3

This year, it seems so wacky. I've never heard of people getting FD without a pin when there is no GP offer! What is going on?? :confused3

Did you call the 407 939 7675?

Can't really explain how, just called and asked with a little groveling and she gave it to me. To be honest I was surprised to get it. But, very happy I did.

O.k. Called again.. Thinking that this is the 100th time. Asked for any type of discount during my time frame.. Sept 28- Oct 8 ... or a pin. The CM stated that I did not have a pin and the discount ends at Sept 28th.

All I want is one sprinkle of pixie dash. I'm so frustrated when I see people getting pin after pin and not one my way... =(

I (and many others on here) share your frustration! Hopefully we'll hear something about a visa/gp discount in a few weeks if not sooner ~ fingers crossed :)

Did you call the 407 939 7675?

I've been calling 407-WDISNEY because the one time I called the 7675 number the woman that answered had absolutely no understanding of what a PIN code was and transferred me to the WDISNEY number.
I said, "I'm calling to find out if I have a PIN code attached to my name", and she said, "I don't know what that means. Are you looking to book a vacation?"
We went back and forth for a few minutes while I tried to explain what I meant by a code, and then she said, "I'll transfer you to booking."

I just don't know if I'm buying this whole free dinning with out a pin thing. Why would they do it for some and not others. I mean if it's true it's great for those who got it, it just seems a little off to me.

I got it....well DH did!

I called 4079347639

Well, I just called again, and nothing. I'm very happy for people who are getting it, but it's so frustrating! I don't understand why some are offered it and some are not.

When my DH called and got FD for us without a PIN (10/18 thru 10/26) we already had a package booked and paid for and DME scheduled. Perhaps that's why we got it? Who knows....

I already had a package booked. I told the agent I wanted to price out moderates because I was so hoping we could upgrade from pop if we got free dining. I even mentioned how I wished we had gotten the pin code floating around because it would enable us to upgrade. She told me POR was sure a beautiful, nice place to stay and good luck.

Pins do not frustrate me. They have been around forever and I have gotten used to them. What frustrates me is the random gifts of FD. I am thrilled for those who receive them, don't get me wrong. I just find it very unfair and frustrating. But as I tell my kids, life isn't always fair, so waiting for GP. If that doesn't happen, I may get mad enough at Disney to not go back for a very long time. But I know they don't care. They have proven not to care about me. :confused3

Don't say they don't care...they do care about their $....we already booked and were ticked about going every year and dropping tons of money....enough that we could've bought into GFVC twice if not thrice.....and I guess DH is more persuasive than I am and whattaya know....we got FD. Have someone else call for you.

I'm curious, what are CRO agents and how are they different from WDTC agents? Thanks :)

CRO is the central reservations office and both are in the same room and when you call and answer some of those automated questions, usually determines who you will speak to, but it could be either one. CRO typically deals with just room only reservations and 3 digit codes and they simply enter this info in the CRS reservation system. They are cross trained to handle what WDTC agents do, but there knowledge/experience base does have limits.

WDTC CM's are trained using a software program that let's them do "everything" else. They can book whatever you might want/need for your vacation; they do all the packages.;)
