Free Dining dates

Hi!

Now that the free dining dates have been released and it excludes the entire month of October, and when I like to go ( Halloween into first week of November) is anyone else out there trying to rearrange their vacation dates to accommodate the free dining promotion??! I'm sure the burst from Jersey week is why it was excluded this year..

I'm having a hard time deciding what to do and maybe your other opinions will help

We moved our dates up 1 week and changed from POFQ to POR....our first dates were included but sold out except for deluxe

Nope. But I'm staying at DVC and can't get it anyway. I still wouldn't rearrange a trip just to get the free dining. YMMV. If I could (and I have to go that week for other reasons) I'd try to avoid Jersey week though.

Yea it isn't so much a price difference for us, it's the crowds. We've gone the last three years on the same week, and it's been getting increasingly busier as the years go on. Wondering since there won't be free dining this timed urging our stay if the crowds will be lower than last year. Before we started going in October we always went during our school vacations in March or April so the jersey week crowds don't really bother us. Still less busy than spring break, IMPO.

I think the reason they DON'T have free dining is that they won't need the help to fill the resorts. Expect crowds.

I don't think I would change anything but we can't get it anyway we are DVC. Stupid question what is Jersey week? I know of the other ones but don't remember hearing about that one. We are going the end of October hope the crowds wont be to bad last time we went it was tolerable.

"Jersey week" refers to the week including Election Day, when the state of New Jersey generally schedules teacher conferences that result in a full week off, or close to it, for the students.

Oh that's right I should have known that my sister works in a Jersey school.

Yes we moved our vacation dates. We have always gone for FD during Jersey week and am so disappointed not to do it this year, and believe me we were banking on it. We moved to the week of Thanksgiving, so now the kids will miss 3 days of school. But priced out all the scenarios, and FD is still the best deal for us, since we have so many Disney dining "adults" and because my family refuses to stay offsite and loves DDP.
