Free Dining Crowds/Fall Decor

My family is arriving Sat. 9/5 and staying through Sat. 9/12. Should we anticipate the crowd calendar for this time being accurate or will their be an increase in guest due to the free dining offer? Also, will the fall/Halloween decorations be in place for the upcoming Halloween events or will be just barely miss them? We typically travel in May to the parks so this will be a whole new experience.

Our experience during this week has always been positive. Crowds are probably at one of their lowest levels of the year. The restaurants will be crowded, but if you have ADRs, or you're ok with doing CS at off-peak times, you will be fine. You will probably just miss the fall decorations, although MK may have some up already in anticipation of MNSSHP. One thing to be aware of -- this is one of the hottest, most humid times of year in Orlando. There will be thundershowers most every afternoon, which may cool things off a bit while they are going on, but when the sun pops back out, the humidity is oppressive. Again, this is nothing that can't be dealt with, as long as you are prepared to dress as coolly as possible (moisture wicking fabrics, shorts and tanks, sundresses, etc.) and take advantage of air-conditioned opportunities and attractions that will get you out of the suffocating heat for a break when needed.

I agree! The low crowd levels always make up for the heat for us. September is one of our favorite times to visit.

You will probably just miss the fall decorations, although MK may have some up already in anticipation of MNSSHP.

MK is the only park that will have any fall/Halloween decor, and it should be up during the OP's trip.

My son is a HUGE Halloween fan but we were not able to work an October trip. I was hoping they might be up at the end of our week and planned to spend that last 2 days at MK just for that very reason. It will def. be a huge bonus for him if it works out.
