OK... I need help! we are going to WDW in two weeks  and my husband and I are thinking of going back in the fall when there is free dining... sooooo.... do we book when we get there because they have that thingy if you book while you are there you get a cheaper rate and then while we are there we would also get an annual pass since it would be cheaper for us...sooo here is my messed up thoughts..
1. book now and get free dining with no annual pass rate or the bounce back rate (is there really such a thing or am i dreaming???)
2. will there be rooms left when we go for the free dining??
3. if i book now can i change my booking to get a better rate if there is one??? 4. am I missing something??
Please and thank you for your thoughts on my dillema!

You can call and change your reservation if a better deal comes along, so I would book now then update later if you get a better deal. The bounceback offer we had last time wasn't much of a deal at all.

We haven't been since January, but the bounceback offer we got was for a room discount - no free dining.

You're going to have to pull out your calculator and do the Disney math.
Figure out how much free dining will save you (paying rack rate at X resort and paying nothing for the dining plan, but paying for 2day tickets each as well as annual passes). Then calculate what you would pay for an annual pass room discount at X resort plus dining plan plus annual passes. See if you can find out what the current bounceback offer is. It's usually a room-only discount and usually not a great one (but better than nothing).

Then compare them and see which one will be the best deal. It will often depend on the level of resort you want to stay at. Staying deluxe often means that a room-only discount is the better deal. Staying value usually means that free dining is better.

Since free dining has limited availability, you may want to book it now, just to have something. Then you can change it later. Or cancel and book with a room-only discount if you decide to go with the annual pass discount.

I agree. If you wait, there might not be availability for free dining and you run the risk of no other discounts being offered for the time you need. You can always book now and cancel, modify, etc. later.
