Free Dining and Deluxe Dining

Can you use a free dining code and get deluxe dining? I would assume it isn't "free" but maybe a discounted rate. Anyone know how that works?

You pay the difference between the DDP and the DxDP.

I believe the difference is about $32.00 per adult per day.

I had a package with AAA with the deluxe dining, 5 nights POFQ for 3, one day ticket (we have leftovers) was going to be 2135. Got the FD pin code and called Disney to rebook---keeping the deluxe dining upgrade (paying the difference), now booked for 1679! Woot!
