my dates of travel is Sept. 18-26,
i want to add an extra day, Sept. 17, to my package cuz it was cheaper to fly out the night before.

I'm on the free dining deal so will i get the extra day free dining or should i should do a seperate reservation for room only?

You will need to do a seperate reservation for the added night. Do not cancel or change the one with free dining.

Have a great time!

I would call to see if they will add a extra day on your res w/ free dining ... alot of people have been doing it and getting free dining on their extra days

If I remember correctlly you would have to call and ask for guest services since the free dining promotion is over. Guest services should be able to add the day for you, with free dining.

I was able to add an extra day including free dining with no problems.

We are traveling Sept 20-26, 2008. I booked through a TA and she called for me yesterday to add a day to our package. She was able to get the room but without free dining. They told her since the free dining promotion was over we could not get an extra day??? Should she call again? Since she is a TA, I don't want to question it.

:confused3

I don't know because I didn't use a TA I called Disney directly. It was not very long after the promotion ended, so maybe there was a "grace period" for changes.

I actually tried to call myself and talk to them regarding this but of course they could not open up my reservation because I booked through a TA. She instructed me to have my TA call back and check again because she thought it should be available. She tried with no luck! I wonder if she should call back again in a week or so to check again?

I also was not able to add days... I wanted to add a night in the beginning of my trip and one to the end... instead I had to do room only ressies for both of those, with free dining in the middle... should I call guest services? will that work??

I have changed my Free Dining/Bounce Back offer reservations every year by calling CRO (or whatever it is called this year). As long as you are not at the edge of the promo start date, you just call and alter the ressie. As long as a room is available you can add it on to the package.

If you wanted a room only the night before or after a package deal, to take advantage of a room only discount, you would need to book a separate reservation and then link them. You want to link them so they keep you in the same room.

Either way you can just call and talk to the CM that picks up the phone, you do not need guest services.

ETA: Of course if you did not book the ressie yourself to start with, you can not alter it yourself. Then you need who ever booked it to call for you.

Guest services has nothing to do with this. You can call and check to see if someone cancelled the date you want to add. If its not available with free dine then its not available.

Yes, there must be availability for your promo BUT when calling and speaking to a CM, they were unable to find anything available when we needed to switch resorts and then later on switch dates (all WAY past when the Bounceback Free Dining promo ended...like 6 months after) but once we were transferred to Guest Services, availability was now showing on their computers. The had access to expired promo's that the first CM's didn't.

That just means the guest service agent looked. Most CM's think once the promo is over that they cant modify anything so they say that nothing is available. Guest services has the same exact availability the CM's have.

Both times when I called to change my Free Dining ressie after the promo was over, the CM I spoke with immediately said they would have to have Guest Services check on that since the promo was over. The first time I was actually transferred to Guest Services (I was changing tickets from 1 day to 10) and the second time I only spoke to the original CM, but he was speaking with GS and then relaying information back to me (changed from WL to POFQ on that call).

Exactly my point. Changing the tickets has nothing to do with the free dine offer, any CM can do that. Unforunately the majority dont realize they can modify the reservations.
