Free Dining 8/26-9/22-Anyone Else Hear This?

Please read the posting guidelines regarding links to other sites and filter violations.....

We have no idea of what possible reasons there are for certain sites not being allowed - for all we know there could be legal reasons/issues. In any case if you want to mention another site - just type it out - if it is allowed it will show - if it is not allowed you will see *********** if you continue to circumvent the filter you could lose you posting rights!

11. INFRACTIONS: The DIS guidelines are an important part in keeping the site family friendly. While the majority of our visitors abide by our rules, there are times when problems develop. In order to handle these issues consistently and fairly, we have developed an infraction system.

As you can see, the infractions have different point values. The majority of offenses will result in a warning via private message accompanied by infraction points which will expire according to schedule. Providing that you do not accumlate more points during that time, no further action should be needed. The more serious violations will result in additional penalties or an immediate banning.

If you do incur an infraction, you will be notified. If you wish to question or appeal this decision, please keep in mind that your correspondence is subject to the same regulations. At anytime you may contact the board administration at admin@wdwinfo.com.

There may be times where a situation develops that is not covered in our infraction system. For those cases we reserve the right to take whatever action is needed in order to ensure that our guidelines are followed.

Title------------Points----------Expires

40 points - Unable to send private messages and cannot have a signature until the points expire

We made all our ADRs too without a reservation. We're a party of 6 and I knew it would get hard to get the times & places we wanted. We waited until it was 180 days out from the last night of our trip & made them all on one phone call. Good luck!;)

Really hoping for free dining!!!!

I just found this thread, and if this question has been asked, sorry! If I have a room only ressie for 9/14 - 9/21, can I change to a package and keep my 40% rate? And if so, should I do it now and change to free dining later if it's offered?

i too made our ADRs, and if our dates don't match with (hopefully) free dining..we will change dates. its just a me and mom trip, so we are totally flexible.

good luck to everyone getting what they want!!!!:goodvibes

You will only be allowed 1 discount, not both the 40% & Free Dining. Also, I do not believe you can add a package to the 40% discount room rate (even if you wanted to pay for dining). Which discount turns out to be a better deal will depend on several things, like how many in your family, where you want to stay (value, mod or deluxe) and for how long. I would not make any changes until something is officially announced. Then, do the math making comparisions and figure out which will get you the better deal. In general though, if you stay at a value resort free dining saves you more and if you stay at a deluxe resort the 40% discount will save you more.

I just tried to switch my room reservations. The CM told me their computers were updating, call back in a hour. Maybe they were updating some GOOD information!!!!!

I was out of town last year when the Free Dining news hit the DisBoards and nearly panicked!lol It's an exciting time anticipating and waiting for official news :) For some people it means another Disney trip :woohoo:

oh I REALLY hope they have free dining then LOL.. We (my siblings and I) are sending my parents to Disney for their 25th anniversary around that time.. free dining would be GREAT!

Free Dining is starting to scare me...I would like to get it, as it would save DGF and I a great lump of cash, but I'm scared that if it is offered so many more people are going to jump on the trip bandwagon and the parks will be much more crowded come mid to late September. Who knows, maybe it's just me...i think I'd take the free food over a little extra wait times....

Has anyone on here ever done the free dining before? :crowded: Was it crowded?

:) Disneybound2007:
I didn't go any of the years there were free dining, but I did ask a couple of people on the Disboards last year and they said "no big crowds at all" just in the dining areas... Again... I don't know for sure... :confused3 But I would love to know as well.....:rolleyes2

Oct 2005 - Restaurants were crowded but if you had an adr you were fine. Parks were very crowded. (too crowded for me)

Aug 2006 - Again restaurants turning away walk ups, but the parks were very managable crowd-wise.

In regards to the crowd issue...

As another dis'er posted, Disney offers incredible deals this time of year due to the drastic decrease in crowds.

With topics like the Dinning Plan, it can seem like EVERYONE is now heading to Disney. Keep in mind that even free dinning can't always sway potential vistors, but most on forums and discussion boards know how benefitial that deal can be.
Certain dates for this package last year did "sell out" at certain resorts... but I remember they actually had to extend the booking dates due to minor lack of interest.

I too am hoping for free dinning... fingers crossed!

I did free dining the first week of Oct. '05 which I believe was right at the end of free dining. The parks were packed and you absolutely needed an ADR. After talking to other guests we discovered it was fall break for some schools in the south and also it was a Jewish holiday. We waited almost an hour for the bus back to POP from Epcot one night. While on the bus , the driver told us that we should've been here last week because the parks were EMPTY!!

I went last year Sept 22nd-30th and it really wasn't crowded at all - except for the restaurants. We didn't wait in line over 10-15 minutes for anything (except the bus back to Pop Century after the MNSSHP).

Actually we were there in October 2005 (not during free dining)... I will say this... The parks were VERY VERY packed!!! I definately agree with the 2 prev posters....

But I was there during September of 2003 with some special discount..no free dining (don't even know if they had the dining plan then) The parks were perfect... Really no lines, just on the weekends.... Fast passes weren't even open.

Either way we are going... Just curious for anyone that was there during free dining....

Hey, we were there from the 20-30th last year too!!!!! We were also at POP! Did you go to any of the meets?????

We had the same experience. The only crowd we encountered that was rough was at MNSSHP. All else, even the restaurnats we picked, or the times we picked, weren't crowded. The only restaurant that we waited like five minutes to be seated was LeCellier.
