Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I just called back and spoke with another CM. She was very specific and said there are absolutely NO pin offers for FD at this time, and NO FD offer to anyone. It has not been released. She said they are told about the offer, and also if the pins are released so they know what to look for.

I am upset about the possibility of POR being excluded as well. We usually get two rooms at POP for my family of 7, but this time my parents are coming with us because of my dad's retirement! We could have slept in two rooms at POR AB whereas at POP we are going to have to get 3 and upgrade dining if it comes out. In the past I have booked ahead of the announcement, but this year I have gone cold turkey and struggling to stay on the wagon, so to speak.

Yeah that's annoying, it's crazy for POR to be excluded since it's so big!! I just checked my dates last night and there are still rooms available so it's not like it's all booked up...I'm just praying the people who said POR is excluded are wrong!!!

Seriously though, the "rumored" date given is ALWAYS the public date. As you know, we always try to put out a Visa date and that one is the most shaky of all the information. Last August Visa just plain old didn't happen....while all of the "rumored" information was on target.

I don't see that happening this time around, but it's clear they shuffled things up at the 11th hour. Overtime is today AND tomorrow....but with the Mine Train events, perhaps it's understandable not to stack the deck too high.

Except the phone reservation line wouldn't have anything to do with Mine Train opening would they? Not like people are going to be calling in to make reservations just because the Mine Train opened today. And if it was media release information, that's a separate phone number not reservations.

Oh well, guess we'll have to just wait and see again tomorrow. Maybe this is Disney's way of thumbing their noses at social media rumors....but if everyone was slated for overtime there is either gonna be some serious money wasted, or more likely a lot of employees going home early today, lol.

I have called twice and same anwserno fd promotion at this time...if u get owen don't bother to continue the convo he was not a happy camper.

Quick question, if POR is not included, does CBR have queen beds? I may have to switch to either CBR or CSR.

There are not currently queen beds at the CBR. People keep talking about the reno but my TA told me yesterday they've been hearing that rumor for 2 years and no one has any idea when or if it will be finished. For sure the pirate suites can't be upgraded without significant work because those beds are custom made.

We have the same issue and I am trying to talk my DH into CSR because I know we cannot do double beds.

On hold now I am just going to change my hotel and hope for the best. I am wondering if I upgrade my hotel will they apply the free dining if it comes out afterwards. Will let you all know if I end up getting free dining when I make the change.

I checked the Chase site this morning and have not seen anything pop up related to getting free dining for the fall yet :-(

Was also just told no FD but to check back. She said they don't know WHEN it will be offered but it should be coming. She mentioned that we know the blogs have said that it's today but no offers currently. Bummer. I was really hoping for POR but have all my backups just in case!

Just called and got a somewhat rude CM who laughed at me for "waiting on hold THAT long for nothing." Sigh...

I'm really disappointed about POR being excluded. What do families of 5+ do when they're on a budget?! I'm thinking we won't be able to go this year and that is so disappointing! I know FD should just be the icing on the cake, but we've relied on it for the last several years & it's really made Disney possible for us.

My Disney Experience says detailed payment info not available but the resort has been changed and DDP has been added. I still have not gotten an email confirmation

If that one, or two people, now, that say they have gotten it, but shouldn't have, when Disney finds out, will they rescind it? Or as long as they have confirmations, will they have to honor it?

The PP is lying.

BUT if for some reason they weren't here is a little info. Disney's discounts and booking are all PC controlled, it isn't someone manually entering an override discount code or writing out their reservation. the only way to make it work would be to hack their network, alienate one specific users account and change the code. I highly doubt the PP did that, but if they did legally Disney wouldn't have to honor anything. and what hacker would go thru that for FREE DINING. heck I'd want GF Roy Suite with free DxDDP and premium plan for $100 a night. hello hackers, you listening? hook me up!!

Just talked with a very nice cast member who said not today. I apologized for all the phone calls and she that she loves it and all the excitement I told her it was 4am my time and she said well I guess you are going to have to get up that early tomorrow again hoping she was right!

I understand it must be frustrating to deal with all of the phone calls one after the other, asking for the same thing, but you work for Disney - you gotta fake the happy if you're not feeling it!

I promise people I would never do this to anyone. Check my past post, you will find that I am not just pulling peoples leg. I must have gotten some serious pixie dust this morning. When my groups are over I will call back and change something and see what the CM says. I did not get dates, just mine. I was in a real hurry, I am at school and my first group starts at 7:15 so was trying to get off the phone.

My dates are Sept 30-Oct 12
Hoping that possibly resorts were not fully loaded yet and that we can still get into POR
