Free Dining 2013

Totally blowing smoke....having a room guarantees nothing except that you'll have a room, but it doesn't guarantee free dining. You'll still have to call, wait on hold like everyone else, and if for example you have AOA and those book up their allotment, then you'll just hold a AOA room with no free dining.

That said, few will book up, so people will get what they want, except the aforementioned AOA of course.
:sad2: You have totally burst my bubble.

Rubbing in that AoA thing a little bit, aren't we?. Kidding:rotfl2: I have my backups and I will be perfectly happy.

Just got off the phone with Disney and CM said he had been hearing the FD talk all day from calling guests. He hinted that it "might" be correct about it starting prior to the 2nd. Like I said he wouldn't say yes...but he wouldn't deny it either. I guess it is just a waiting game till morning...When will Disney Visa tell us the news???

We have always gotten in at POR and don't mind upgrading our room there. Would I need to worry about rooms giving out this year? And have I mentioned Disney is driving me crazy this year. Husband says he will let me do the bounce back from now on so I don't drive home crazy!:)

Okay, here's my daydream, wish, hopeful thinking, pie in the sky, whatever you want to call it!

Could it be that the 5/9 GP offer is still going to be 9/2 and on as everyone originally predicted? But the early Visa offering--hopefully tomorrow--will include end of August as well??? No one seemed to have any details about when the Visa offer would come out---people were guessing last Thursday, tomorrow, 5/9, and everything in between. So maybe this is another detail about the offer that we don't know!

Don't want to start any rumors and this PURELY crazy speculation on my part, but that would be so NICE!!!!

Have 2 questions:
1.How will we know if fd is available tomorrow @7 am?
2. We have 2 parties traveling together, but under separate reservations. One person has a Disney visa, if they have my confirmation number will they be able to update my reservation?

1. It will be on this thread as folks call in and book.

2. Shouldn't be a problem.

This is my first time calling Disney so what is the phone number to main reservation line? I know it was posted in thread somewhere but i can't find it. I found about ten different numbers that i found online LoL. Thanks in advance :)

I just finished using the disney chat with a cm and after a lot of hypothetical prodding he said that if it were to be announced it would be in the morning and that if he were me he would put it on my disney visa tonight and call tomorrow to add fd if it should be announced. Don't know if that reassures anyone or confuses more but i am taking it as a hint it's tomorrow.:)

Can you book through the CM you are talking to on the Disney chat? If so, I'd be concern he was telling you to book tonight just to get the sale (the booking CMs have goals). I don't know what other benefit there would be to booking tonight when you'd still have to call tomorrow to add FD.

So best thing to do is wake up early and call right at 7am est?

Yes i could have booked there on the chat if i wanted to but to be honest i wanted to post it on here and get some feedback first and then my bubble was burst..lol. But i do appreciate it.

I am new to the Dis boards and I was reading up on some of the questions and answers on this thread about the free dinning and came across questions about annual fee for the credit card vs the debit card. How do you get the debit card and how does it work and what are the perks of it?

One of the numbers you can use is 407-WDW-MAGIC.

I was also wondering about this bounce back and F/D. I am looking at going to WDW next year after Labor Day for 8 nights with my family. Would it be better to go down there this year for 2-3 days by myself so I can book the bounce back for F/D for next year? My sister told me not to because she thinks it would be a waste of my time and money if they didn't offer the bounce back for next year. I am confused with what to do. :worried: I need to find some way of saving money whether with the F/D or R/O discounts. Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!:goodvibes

If you're not picky about hotels, I'd wait until closer and see what other people post on here regarding the bounce back offers (if they are offered). It's an expensive risk to take.

I'm not a Disney Visa holder and this isn't a bounceback since I haven't been since 2008.
She told me that there were no Sept discounts out yet, and then she said Oh wait, I have this right in front of me, I cant believe I was trying to get you to book your trip without telling you. My res. is for POR MYW + dining and that on the 9th I can call back and apply the free dining discount to it, and then she told me how much it would save off the quoted res. price.
I confirmed that I could apply the FD to my trip starting 8/26 and she said yes that FD is running from sometime mid August until Sept. 28 (I think that was the ending date).

I'm going out to dinner now, but I think I'll call back later and ask again just to be sure.

This is an interesting bit of news ;-)
