I'm trying to figure out what to have for our alternate resort reservations. Right now booked at aoa Lm room. Going to get in right away may 9 to update reservation to fd. If it runs out, what resort dues everyone think be best. I've stayed at all stars and por.
We have 2 separate parties traveling together. One is 3 adults 1 dd 4yo and one dd 1 and half yo. The other is one adult and one dd 4 yo.
What's thoughts on best alternative resort options?

Pop is nice and just across the bridge. I love Pop and if I didn't want a mod this year, that's where I'd be staying. Love the 50s section.

I forgot to tell everyone. May the fourth be with you all. So what do you think Igor is going to announce in about an hour at the Studios?

411, Thanks for suggestions! I have never even thought about 2 connecting rooms at POP. I might run the numbers in the next 2 months to see...lol:rolleyes1

Vickie

Getting 2 connecting rooms at a value resort, as opposed to the AOA suite will save you roughly $100 per night, so at least $700 on a week's stay :-)

I remember when a value suite was pretty much the same cost as two value rooms....which made sense. Now it's just not that way and it's rather crazy they call them values. I suppose they saw a demand for suites so they raised the price accordingly. It's also rather puzzling that the suites at AOA all have interior hallways, which you have to move all the way to a deluxe to get anywhere else. I'm not sure what AOA is...not a value, not a moderate....perhaps a hybrid.

Since George Lucas is there with him, I would assume it is Star Wars related. I think they are going to knock down Indy Stunt show and expand the Star Wars area there. My sincere wish is that they also build an Indy ride like the one in Disneyland - it is phenomenal!

I do think they will be demolishing the stunt show and Backlot tour to put in Carsland also, but I don't think that's the announcement tonight - bit I wish it was!!!!!

Well nothing was announced so I'm not sure what they were doing there...but several folks said they knew for a fact they were there. Oh well, maybe they were just having some coffee. :confused3

Those AOA suites are WAY overpriced - they are $70 more per night than the All-Star Music family suites, which ridiculous because they are basically the same, just without the new theming. Don't get me wrong, the AoA suites are super cute and the theming of the resort and pools is some of the best I have seen at Disney, but I'm just not going to pay the price they want for those suites - and our family is their target demographic.

I don't know either, but there were a lot of tweets about Iger and Lucas being in the park today. Weird.

While I agree with you completely too bad everyone else does not feel that way. If the current demand continues they'd have no reason not to increase them even more.

I have a couple of questions:

1)I have in the past had a Disney Visa. If I apply for one tomorrow and it is approved (was instantly last time) can I get the early booking for FD?

2)My in laws are traveling with us and right now we have 2 connecting rooms at Pop. From what I can tell we may be better off in a cabin at Ft Wilderness to not have to pay the upgrade? Is this correct or am I missing something? We have 4 adults, dd7 and ds5.

Thanks!

Here is my dilemma....We are currently booked Sept. 1-6 at POR....will I have to call Monday morning and book one night for the 1st and then 2-6 to get the free dining? Just pay one nights room....and then book the package (tickets & room+ free dining hopefully) for the rest of the stay?

That's pretty much the plan.
