free dining 2008 question

My grandmother and aunt are going to disneyworld this saturday 22nd - 27th. I was wondering if anyone booked the free dining bounce back promo for 2008 (upon checking out this year) and booked under different names for next year? Can you do that? THe reason I am asking is because my husband and I want to go next year during free dining and I would like to have my grandmother book the free dining for us nest year when they check out on the 27th. Does anyone know what the conditions are about that? Thanks

Everything I've read says that only the person currently staying can book a room for 2008, if they are going to be staying in that room. Therefore grannie can't book a room in your name because WDW will vertify that YOU are currently staying and your name will not come up. Someone recently posted that someone tried to do this for them and they got called by Disney and had their reservation canceled. I actually thought of doing it too because this week my Stepson and family are there and my stepson is a junior and has the same name as my husband. It all made my head hurt, so didn't even take it beyond just a thought I was having.

I read that post too. You are right. The person currently at Disney has to be the one to book the reservation in their name for 2008.

Hi don't know if this helps but I have just booked for next year (sept '08) & had the free DDP included,it was all done by phone so this may help your bounce back problem

I was at POP last week-- my DD(26) and myself. I booked 2 rooms for next year 1 in my name and one in my sisters name. I paid the deposit for each on my cc. I just received the paper confirmation for both yesterday. I just gave them my address for both even thought they had my sis and BIL on file from a previous visit. I was told that I could book as many rooms as I had adults registered

When we stayed at CBR from 9/7-9/15, we also booked for next year through the bounce back progam and got free dining. Just DH and I went this year and we wanted to bring the kids next year, so we would need 2 rooms. When I booked, the CM said that you have to physically be there in order to book for next year. So in order to get 2 rooms, the CM had to book one room in my name and the other in my DH's name. She put me on hold to check with the front desk at CBR to make sure we were physically there when I booked.
