Free Dining 1st Week of October

I have seen pin codes that extended the free dining thru the end of the year, but they black out the first full week of Oct. (10/3-10/12) Since Veterans day isn't until the 14th why the black out?

I can only assume because the ToT race is that weekend, and with 10000+ people slated to run, not counting family and friends of those runners, they don't have any reason to push to get more people into giving them money those days!

DH ran the ToT 10-miler last year & we had free dining. I can't remember what our check in date was, but our stay included part of the Columbus Day weekend.

Isn't Veterans Day in Nov? If you are asking about Oct. then it is probably the TOT run. My DD does marathons and there are ALOT of people that go to not only run, but to show support. So those rooms could be booked for that reason.

We will be there 10/5 until 10/13. At our 90 day mark, I rang to inquire about doing a VIP tour. The tour prices vary based on the season. Anyhow, for the dates that I was inquiring about (10/6 and 10/8) the CM said that is before Columbus Day, therefore low season, therefore the price of the tours is at the low end of the spectrum. So, if Disney is still considering those dates "low" and pricing their tours at the low end, despite symposiums and marathons, perhaps that is good news for a discount on those dates. I would have thought that if they were expecting bumper enough crowds to not offer any type of discount (room only or FD) that they would also have bumped the price of the tours.
