Free DDP ever in August?

How long has Disney been offering free dining during September? Do they ever offer free dining in August? Which resorts in the past have been included in the free DDP? Is it the regular DDP or the deluxe one? I am guessing the regular one!

We did the free dining in August/Sept. of '05. I think the dates were 8/21 to 10/5.

Not sure what the dates have been the last two years.

Since 2005, Disney has been offereing Free Dining during the last part of August until the end of September, give or take a few days. It has already been offered to UK visitors for this September and to those of us who were there at WDW during Free Dining this past September for the dates of August 30 - September 27 2008. The free dining for this year should be announced during the first week of April. The first couple of days it will only be open to Disney Visa holders and then will open up to the general public. If you want to get the Deluxe Dining Plan you will have to pay the difference, which is about $32.00 per adult. As for resorts, there are select resorts that will be allotted blocks of Free Dining rooms. I think it depends on which resorts have the lowest bookings around the time the FD offer comes out. I do specifically remember that Wilderness Lodge did not have bookings available for FD last year. Also, POP and ASMo are the values that will sell out first.

We aren't going back this year because the heat was so terrible and we thought we would have low crowds, and the crowds were not that low to us. The Free Dining Secret is OUT!!!

We were there in 2007 for the free DDP. It was only for two days in August I believe, and all but the latter part of September.

We did bounce back with free dining in 2008, I believe it included the date range of the last four days in August.

The UK gets a much broader choice of dates for free dining than anyone else, I believe they got offered 2-3 August weeks, however, for 2008 they could not choose Values, it was Moderates and up (still a good deal).

I am hoping free dining is offered to everyone again this spring, and to those also staying in Values, as they did last year, because my sister and her family will join us if so!

Just a slight correction on the free dining dates from 2007. All of the information that I am finding is that the dates were [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]8/26/07 – 9/22/07. I was almost sure on the end date because I was hoping that it'd go a little later in September. I found out the beginning date only because I was researching the ending date.

As a PP stated - the UK's window is bigger than the general publics, and I believe the bounce back from 2006 was slightly longer, with an end date of 9/29/07.

I can 100% support Tricia1972's 2007 dates. MANY of us 'general public' Free-DDPers last year arrived (at Pop, but I'm guessing everywhere) on the 22nd to take advantage of the end of the DDP and, in many cases, the beginning of the Food & Wine Festival

It was offered earlier in August a few years back. We checked in on August 14 in 2005 which was the day the free dining started. It has been later and later in the past two years. I believe this year the offer starts on August 30 for those who booked through the bounceback offers. There is lots of speculation on whether it will even be offered--who knows. I'm sure the time period of the offer will continue to get smaller if it continues to be offered. I have also seen info that indicates that for 2008, the resort must be moderate or deluxe but I have several friends who are booked at Pop (again, through the bounceback offer).
