Free day ticket and a pkg price question.

I guess I really have three questions;

With the current buy 4 get one free ticket promotion, what if you buy more than three days? Will one of the days still be priced as free, or is the discount really lost on tickets of say 6 days?

What about booking the room only discount, will you lose the room only discount if you ad tickets to the package?

Can you get a room only discount and the buy 4 get one free promotions at the same time, or do you need to purchase them separately somehow?

2. Don't add the tickets to the room.

3. Yes.
If you don't want a package, just tell the CM that you don't want a package.
If she balks, just buy one or the other, finish the call, then call back.

1. Looking at the spring special it says minimum 4 day tickets and one more ticket day free so if you buy 6 day tickets you will get a 7th day free.

2. The offer says up to up to 25% off the room (depending on the resort) and when you upgrade to a room and ticket package you will receive the one more ticket day free. You keep the % off the room rate for this special offer.

3. It's a package deal so you have to book the room and tickets together to get the free ticket day. You cannot get just the tickets. Or you could book just the room at the xx% off as long as there is availability and check a third party re-seller like Undercover Tickets, Maple Leaf, AAA, to see how much they are charging for tickets.

Thanks everyone! I got the room and tickets booked, now I just need to quickly learn about fastpass plus and magic bands. I am surprised there is not a sticky about it. It is a very last moment trip and I can't find any info. :-(

Occasionally there are some offers for free days, or kids stay and play free, or free dining. This is all marketing hype!

Disney World has three main profit and expense centers: the Parks, Food & Beverage, and Resorts (including transportation). Each of these has to make a profit. (Actually there are more, such as merchandise and sports, for example, but they don't really count for this discussion.)

The Parks, including the theme parks, water parks, Disney Quest, get their money from ticket sales. It does not matter if these tickets are sold at the gates, by phone or online, by the Resorts, or by wholesalers such as AAA, The Disney Store, or authorized resellers.

Food and Beverage is all dining locations property-wide, including from Victoria and Albert's down to the ice cream or other snack carts. All money taken in by the Dining Plan (any level) goes to F&B and then down to the individual locations depending on use by Plan Guests.

The Resorts have the most flexibility as far as prices are concerned. If they are offering free tickets, they still have to pay Park Operations for the tickets they sell. If they are offering free dining they still have to pay F&B for the dining plans. The only way they can do this is by adjusting the price of the rooms. And they do not stack discounts. So if you are getting "free dining", you are actually getting a discounted price on the room but paying for the dining.

This is why a person making a discounted reservation at an AP rate cannot get free dining,l the Resort still has to make money.
