edited to add this is like a "mini" scrapbook..several pictures to a page/layout and journaling....worth a look!

That's awesome. Do you have a code to get the book free? The links don't work, they say your session has timed out. Do you know how much s/h is?

Thanks!

I am getting an error also when I try to view the page.
:confused3

BTW, on the site, it doesn't show the discount until you enter your cc info. Entering it doesn't place the order. You get a chance to review the order and see s/h before the order is actually placed. Also, s/h is 3.95 for Standard. I'm thinking of getting one of our wedding for my mom for her birthday. THese really seem like a good deal, especially for only 3.95. There aren't many colors of covers to choose from though. I wish there was white black or red.

I just ordered a book (haven't received it yet) and photoworks emailed me a coupon code for another free compact book! Cool beans! :cool1:

the downside is with a dial-up internet connection (oh how I wish I had DSL), creating the book took sooooooooooooooo long. First uploading my 44 pictures took 60 minutes (their program PhotoStream was a great help), and then me arranging the layouts took just about as long! (I just couldn't bring myself to do the auto-populate). If I like the result, I might do another, otherwise i don't know if i have the patience!

oh, and a side note, once you choose the color for the book front and the background design, you can't seem to change your mind without completely starting over. that was a royal pain.

and for any fellow washingtonians, your total's gonna be $4.30 with tax. Photoworks is in seattle!

The same thing happened to me. I ordered a book and in my confirmation e-mail it had a code for another book. I ordered another one adn it worked and got yet another one in my e-mail. (It's actually the same code). So it worked for me twice. I'm so anxious to see how they turn out. I'm thinking of ordering a big one for myself. I ordered wedding albums for my MOM and MIL in the small ones. I havn't scrapbooked my wedding yet and am thinking of forgetting it and doing one of these instead. Anyone have any thoughts/opiions on that? I have so many embellishments for the wedding scrapbook, but still need to buy paper and a scrapbook so this will probably be cheaper. Don't knowwhat I'd do with all the embellishments, maybe take them back to Michaels?

It took a really long time for me too. I set up t he pictures to upload and left them overnight. And I have DSL! Everything on the site was slow. It looks like it will turn out well though! I hope the quality is good. anyone order from them before?

christinadei- well, i wouldn't let cost be the determining factor! (in your decision to scrap your wedding pics or get a book.) scrapping your wedding could be fun- or overwhelming!

it's funny, but as I was sitting there waiting, and then waiting some more, i was thinking that I could have scrapped these pics by now! and wondering if I shouldn't just quit and scrap them instead! i'd wait and see what the quality is like before you make any big decisions.

me, i actaully made a book of, uh, myself! my mom had scanned in many of my 'younger years' (0 to 13) pictures some time ago. I was going to print them and scrap them, but when I tried I just got stuck. It is so hard to scrap my own beginnings!! Esp emotionally- uck :sad2: But I didn't want the photos to get stuck in a box, so this seemed like a good alternative.

i can't believe that even with DSL it was slow going! yikes

I will definately wait to see the quality of the books! I just think that it's very nice and simple, which is what I want for my wedding pictures. I've always wanted to get a photo book of our wedding pictures, and theres no reason to have both a scrapbook and photo book of the same pictures, you know? I just can't decide. I'll wait and see how much I like the books when they come in and then I'll try to make my decision. I've been so overwhelmed with scrapping my wedding. It's been a year and a half and I haven't even started! I've just been collecting embellishments, haha. I think this will make it much more painless. My pictures are all already uploaded, so it won't take long, and will definately be faster than scrapbooking it. I'll let everyone know how the books turn out!

Has anyone gotten their book yet? Just curious, I got another code in my email today and thought maybe it was a "sign" that I should actually do one of these!!

I got mine!
I am very happy for the price. IT will make a perfect little gift for my mom for Mother's day. The pictures are a tad bit small. but it still works.
I had a heck of time iwth the program and the uploading...but i plan to do it again.
it won't replace my scrapbooking but still a good thing!

they are okay. They are nothing like i expected. The covers are just cardstock and the pictures all came out sort of grainy. But for 3.95,t hey were a good deal and my mom loved them. I didnt' like them enough to get a bigger one though. But definately try them out. I may order more small ones, for a disney trip, etc. Just dont' set your expectations up too high.

i'm with christinadei, they were nothing like i expected! they were smaller than i thought--20 pages = 10 pages printed on both sides....plus the cardstock cover.....i certainly would not pay full price for it, but for $3.95, as a simple gift i think they are kinda neat.

actually, despite my slight disappointment, i did go and get a second one....i used a bunch of my photos and some great quotes/inspiring thoughts and made it into an 'inspirations' album. kinda fun.

the big downside is, as i mentioned before, it just takes so friggin long to download the pics and then create/manage the book! (i have dial-up)

Thanks everyone. I started doing one, but didn't get past importing the pictures. It took sooooo long! It really sounds like it isn't worth it for me. I'll stick to my scrapbooking! Although this may be a good solution to the fact that I've never scrapped any of my wedding photos and I'm a little too lazy to do it, since I have 4 books going for DDs already!

There are other sites to try if you are interested in creating photo books on the computer - I've used iPhoto several times in the past. Ophoto and Shutterfly also have photo books. I've done so much scrapbooking that I am burned out - this new way of displaying photos has me excited. I LOVE the books I've done on iPhoto!

Course, they DO cost more than $3.95........ ;)
