Just got back from my Blockbuster Video and had to share this with everyone. For $24.99 you get a card good for 10 movie rentals (for 10 weeks) and a copy of Monsters Inc.

I live in Illinois and it was offered at our Blockbuster too. I bought it and am saving it for Halloween.

The monster's inc promotion is corporate wide. The ten week rental card is one rental a week for ten consecutive weeds starting the week the card is purchased. They will be selling the cards until Sept 16th with monster's inc coming out Sept 17th.

Silly question......When you buy the 10 week card do you get 1 FREE rental for 10 weeks or is it a discounted rental fee for 10 weeks? I'm so confused!!!!

You get 1 free rental a week for 10 weeks.

I will buy the Monsters Inc. rental card on Sept. 16th, because I'll finish using my 10-week Lord of the Rings rental card the week before! If you rent your movies on Monday-Wednesday, you'll get a free favorites movie, too!

Can this card be used for new releases? Last time I purchased one of these, new releases weren't included for the free rentals. And that's pretty much all we rent!

I rented Tarzan and Jane with the card. They didn't say anything except you can't rent games with the card. There isn't anything on the back of the card that says you can't get new releases.

I pre-ordered Monsters, Inc. on DVD and we use one of Blockbuster's compeditors that is closer to our house. Anyway, out of curiosity for the next promotion, do you get a choice between VHS and DVD or are you limited to VHS?

Yes, you can rent new releases. And yes - you can choose VHS or DVD. If you skip a week during the 10-week period - you can't make it up.

DVD rentals had been $2.49 at our Blockbuster for quite a while, so $24.99 for the Monsters, Inc. card was equal to the 10 rentals. Today our Blockbuster raised the rental rate to $2.99 - so renting 10 movies will now cost $29.90...making the 10-week Monsters, Inc. movie card an even better deal!

We did the free rental deal for Lord of the Rings. I will purchase the Monsters, Inc. by Sept. 16th. I just have to remember to return my movies on time . I have already paid for three free movies.
