I just wanted to say Thank you to the kind lady who gave 20 dollars and said to the barista this morning "let it ride!"

I was in the bookstore and there was a huge line for coffee and I was going to pay for mine and then I was told it was taken care of.

So has this ever happened to you?

It's never happened to me, but my dad does this on occasion. When he's in a drive-up line, he will pay for the person behind him. He's a great guy :)

We've never done that but we've paid for the person behind us at toll booths.

Yes! I was at a Starbucks a few months back and was told some guy had paid for my (and other people's) coffee. A very nice "random act of kindness". I'm tempted to do something like that myself, I'd want to be able to slip out the door, though, before I'm "caught".

What a great idea! One time I was working during a huge snowstorm. At the end of the day when I went out to dig my car out, someone had done it for me and even scraped the windows! I never forgot this.

Now I do the same for others - only people I know though! I don't touch unknowns...fear of car alarms or lawsuits.

Sure did! I was in the drive through at Dunkin Donuts when we lived in FL. When I drove up to the window, the person said that the lady that was in the car in front of me took care of it!   Too sweet! :goodvibes

It's never happened to me, but DH and I always annonymously pick up the tab of any military servicemen we see.

I love random acts of kindness...I was in drive thru a couple of years ago and the guy in front of me paid for my order. I was floored. I'd never had that happen before except in a bar and that doesn't count. We all know there's an ulterior motive their.

My random acts of kindness don't usually involve money, but I go out of my way to unload the groceries for the mom who has a toddler on one hip and an infant carrier in the other had, or help the little old man who has lost his wife and can't find her, or the child who keeps dropping his quarter when he's paying for his candy bar (actually, I've picked that tab up before).

I love random acts of kindness... sometimes even when they are not so random....
:goodvibes

I've done that in the airport a few times.
If I see any military in line at one of the counters I'll go up to the front (my apologies for line jumping) ask for the manager, give them $$ toward that person's bill.

Not quite the same as some of the other posts, but still pretty cool!

My friend's sister was getting married, and I came over to the hotel the night before the wedding to help with all the last minute stuff. The three of us we're walking down the hallway towards the room with a bunch of stuff for the wedding that we were bringing in from the car. A lady (another guest) was walking towards us. She saw that we we're carrying a lot of wedding stuff and stopped to congratulate my friend's sister.

She also gave her $100! The sister tried to refuse but the nice lady insisted, said she knew how tough it was for young people just starting out in life and she was in a position to help.

She was so sweet! :goodvibes
