Free admission to Illuminations?

I read on another site that Epcot is open at 9:00 to anyone who wants to watch Illimunations without buying park admission. Is that true?

Unfortunately you cannot get admission to Epcot at the end of the night without a using your ticket. Sorry.

What time does Illuminations start? I've tried looking on other threads for the info as I sure it must be out there, then I get sidetracked and start reading about other things and before you know it - 3 hours laters and I still don't know what time Illuminations starts.

Usually 9 pm. Later on major holidays and in December (9:30)

I have heard an occassional story of a CM sprinkling pixie dust and letting someone in to see Illuminations, but it is the exception and just about every store I have read involves a solo traveler.

I heard this too when I was planning my trip over 2 years ago. But I never attempted it since we had purchased AP's and had admission whenever we needed it for our trip.

There are signs on the beach that say it is for the exclusive use of the Polynesian Resort guests.

They used to let people in through the International Gateway for free to see Illuminations. Just after the lights were dimmed.

They stopped that around 1997 around the time Test Track opened.
