Free Admission for OIF

Question

I saw where Anheuser-Busch has authorized free admission for its parks for military members involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Has anybody heard rumor that Disney might match or do something similar?

Haven't heard that, but how would they distinguish an OIF soldier from a non OIF one. I know that in dress uniform a soldier will have a ribbon on his chest that will acknowledge a conflict/war, but I know of nothing he'd carry while in civies that would do so.

Well ... techically ... everyone in the military in a time of war is involved in that conflict. Just because you weren't IN Iraq doesn't mean that you weren't part of the process and the effort. I would imagine that any military family, whether actually deployed or not, would qualify. After all, the guys overseas can't do a thing without the support system back home.

I'm wondering if anyone has heard about Disney or Universal jumping in with an offer as well. It wouldn't need to be a big offer, just a free day or two from each . Combine those with Sea World's one day and you would have 5 days of fun. Here's hoping.......

They Disney, US, and Almost all the other Parks nationwide did something similar after 9/11 for active Military Service and Emergency Service Personel ie Fire, Rescue, Ambulance, Police for about 8 months free admission for the Personel, 1 free day for their families and reduced admission for the rest of their visit. As an unpaid Emt / Firefighter for the last 22 years. I must say I considered this a very generous thing and hope that those that participated thanked all the Companies that participated.I would commend them if they were to do this for the military again.

Busch Gardens, Sea World and Sesame Place are offering free ONE DAY admission to the parks to all active duty military, active reservists and National Guard, and up to four dependents. And all coalition forces serving in OIF.
The article I read last week said Disney and Universal were "sure to follow," but I have not yet heard any official statement from either company.
