Disney marketeers are genius at making people think they are getting a great deal for "free." In this case, the offer specifically says "with full-priced package" so already you are giving up any discounts you might have had.
The real genius is that they are convincing you that by giving up $500 in regular discounts (money you could use for airfare, your mortgage, groceries, the orthodontist, utilities, etc.) you are somehow getting $500 for "free" that can only be spent in Disney!
I'm not being cynical - just be realistic and price out any other savings you might be losing so you know exactly which deal is better for you.
Yes, that's true but since it can be used for food, ticket upgrade etc. it kind of is still a dit especially if you are there for just the 5 days. It probably would be a better discount for me at the WL if we all needed tickets. I have a 40% off right now on a woods view for 165/nigh plus tax. I could get the standard room at WL with the 750/room giftcard. To do what we want upgrade 3 passes to an AP each and pay for the room we would have to pay about 230 more than what we have now and end up with a 5 day pass plus the 4 one day passes I have. I would end up with tickets that I may never be able to use. We have 4 day passes that were from free dining and the free $500 giftcard in May (you only had to purchase a 1 day with that offer not the 5 day) Plus with the package we could use the 6 month zero int. on Disney Visa. So this way, the way I have it now, I'll use up 3 of the 1 day passes to upgrade to APs. The way they worked the last two offers - no one day passes basically length of stay. I guess if we split stay 5 nights to get the giftcards (2 rooms) and 2 nights with the pin, but then basically have to waste a day moving rooms I think we are just going to keep what we have and hope a Standard room opens up with the 40 % off. That is really the best deal aside from the 45%off with AP that ends tomorrow (no rooms since the offer was out there for standard rooms.
