Free 30 min. Arcade Card - RIP OFF!!

Our travel documents included a free 30 minute Arcade card to be used in the hotel arcade. I took DS there to kill time while DH had a needed rest in the room. I talked to the attendant first. 1st swipe - no problem. 2nd swipe - didn't work. The attendant said, "You must wait a few minutes for the card to update and allow you to go again. Try now." It worked. 3rd swipe - Didn't work - tried numerous times - Didn't work. Went to the gift shop. Came back. Still didn't work. Told the attendant (2nd one) - "It works for 30 minutes from the first swipe. That's why I always tell people to not leave before using it up. You can pay on the machine over there to do more things." So we got about 8 minutes of use out of it!!

I know, I could have complained there to have gotten more time, and I would have if DS would have been more into it. At that point, we needed to leave, so I didn't take the time to complain.

Just wanted to pass on how limiting the card is.

Just like all of the little "freebies" I imagine they are more to "get you in there" than anything else. We didn't get the 30 min card when we went in July but we did buy an arcade card and I couldn't believe how quickly the $$$ disappeared on them especially with our younger two. When I was getting my older one set up with his card, the younger two swioed their card on one machine over and over and over again .i think they ended up being able to play one game since they'd used the rest up swiping it!

Not sure I understand how these things work -- you have to play non-stop for 30 minutes? So can you change games, or is it just 30 min play on one game? We've never even visited the arcades at resorts (just walked by... )

We got that card too. We arrive at PO-FQ this Saturday. We'll just go to the arcade and give it to someone there. Hopefully they'll know what to do with it.

I think we were supposed to get one during our check in, but we didn't. I had one included in my sons gift basket though and he plays it while I do laundry. It never last long....he's usually back in the laundry room with me before I'm even done with 1 load.

I was wondering about this card, too. So, what if you are halfway through a game at the end of your 30 minutes? Will it just stop? Or can you finish that game? Also, it said something about not being valid for games that give out prize tickets... so I'm assuming you are fairly limited on what games it's good for.

Believe me - I am the wrong person to ask. The attendant was not clear with me. It worked on two items and didn't work after that. She did say he would not get any tickets, which was fine with both of us. My son has hardly ever played these kinds of games, so I thought the 30 min. card would help him see how they worked.

If you have the card, try to get the CM to be clear about which ones it works on.
