I have only seen commercials for this movie, and haven't read any reviews. Would this movie be inappropriate for a 5 year old? I would love to see the movie with DD.

I would like to see this movie. I don't usually get a chance to go to the movies though.

LOL, I was wondering the same thing.

My kids, 4 and 6 have seen the preview so many times, they run around the house making faces and saying "I'm the Crypt Keeper"........"mommy, what's a crypt keeper??":teeth:

Us adults went to see it, dragging the men behind.......the men ended up liking it alot.

Oh, you said 5 year olds.

Same thing. :p :jester:

Seriously, it's a very good movie but it really depends on if you think your 5 year old would "get" it or not. There are some pretty funny scenes in it though, and I bet the wee ones would find them comical.

It's a pretty clean movie as well........I don't recall ANY foul language at all.

I'm not sure I'd say it was inappropriate, as there isn't any swearing and if I remember, just one kiss.
But the story is oriented towards young teens. It is story about a teenage girl who is rebelling against her mother (she dresses rock 'n roll ish, has a bad attitude, etc). They get into a big fight at a restaurant, and wake up the next morning in each other's body. From then on it gives the message about how each should respect the other's "lifestyle" (for lack of a better word??)
I went with DD8, and as much as she said she liked it, I caught her getting bored at certain points. It does have it's amusing parts, and I probably enjoyed it more than DD.
IMHO I'd say 5 is probably a little too young. It is better suited for 8-14 yr olds. My advise - wait to rent the DVD.
I hope this helps.

I took my five year old at the time (she's 6 now) and she LOVED IT!

Nothing foul in the language end.

There is one scene before they switch bodies where Anna & Tess argue. Anna runs to her room and slams the door. Tess later takes the door off the hinge and Anna comes home to no door.

There is an arguement that ensues before they switch bodies. There is a bit of raising voices, but my daughter knows not to talk like that.

As for it being too old, I didn't think so. my 5 year old liked it better than my 8 year old. My 8 year old liked it, but my daughter (the 5 year old-n0w 6 year old) can recite lines, and sing all the music.

As for inappropriateness, nothing sexual. At most in the end, Tess and her hubby get married, and they kiss... no biggie there.

6 DD and I saw it yesterday. I think the content is fine for that age. I began to worry that DD was bored, but when it was over she said she was saving up her money to buy it when it comes out on DVD.
